I am sure you have seen these around. They are Bandana Dresses. I have been taking them to craft shows, and they are a HUGE hit.
This simple dress can fit a little girl from about 6 months on up to a size 8. You won’t find any other clothing like that. They are simple to make as well.
You will need
- 2 bandanas
- 2 yards of ribbon
You will put the right sides together, and sew the side seams up. I sew up to about 6 inches from the top. Do this on both sides.
Take the top, and fold down about 1 inch. and then sew that down. You will place the ribbon through this casing you are making. If your ribbon is small you can make the casing smaller. And if larger you can make larger. I find a 7/8 ribbon is a nice size.
To the sewing to the front and the back piece. Once done, you will cut your ribbon into 1 yard sections. Thread the ribbon through. I put the ribbon on a safety pin and put it through that way.
Now you just have to place on a little girl and tie the ribbons onto the shoulders.
I don’t like to keep re-threading the ribbons all the time, so I stitch the ribbon down the middle of the casing, so it stays in place.
Now you have a simple bandana dress. Enjoy.
