With the large red heart upside down attach on black heart to the point of the red heart for the head. Attach the other black heart to the bottom for the “bottom”. Glue wiggle eyes on the head (top heart). Attach the chenille stick to the head (fold it in half making two sides). I used a hole punch to make two holes in the top of the head and strung the chenille stick through it taping it to the back to secure it. Twist each side into an antennae. Glue the small hearts on the body of the love bug.

Every year I make Valentine Love Fish with my preschoolers. It is simple, quick and so much fun.
Materials needed for this Valentines project are:
Cut out one large red heart for the body. Cut out three smaller hearts for the fins. Cut out one tiny heart for the lips.
Assemble the hearts as shown in the picture.
Glue the eye on the side of the fish.
To use this as a Valentine card you could make it smaller and write a poem or message on the back.
