You know me as the Real Advice Gal in my spare time I am the soccer mom. I spend my nights and weekends on the sideline. If you know me at all you know I love dresses so I made myself one specially for soccer, my students created the Wonder Woman graphic because it takes superhero power to manage it all. Do you know why I am so dedicated to soccer?
I have three children and they all love soccer. This week one of the parents sent out an email saying my daughter who is in first grade has natural talent. The truth is she loves soccer. She sets a goal before each game to get so many goals and so many assists. You knows what an assist is because she studies the game when her older brother plays on the travel team. This past weekend she got 5 goals and 2 assists and she in her own words “showed those boys girl power”. I am a huge fan of empowering girl through sports. We stress a healthy lifestyle, fitness, pride, work ethic, and good old fashion fun. We also encourage our children to be themselves.
Last weekend we celebrated Mother’s day and one of the stories that touched my heart was when the U.S. Soccer reunited the U.S. Women’s National Team members with their moms over Mother’s Day Weekend.
On Saturday night, as the team prepared for a send-off game vs. Ireland (in San Jose, CA) in advance of the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, the team received an awesome surprise when Fox Sports flew out every player’s mom. It was so touching to see these women be reunited with their moms for Mother’s day. Then, on Sunday during the U.S.A. vs. Ireland game (at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, Ca) a unique breaking of tradition took place. Rather than taking the field with youth soccer members to enter the stadium, the players walked out with their moms in a heartwarming tribute to Mother’s Day and moms across America.

I am so inspired by the One Nation, One Team, 23 Stories of our Women’s National Soccer team. I want to be the kind of mom that these women have. I want to be the mom that cheers on her little girl as she turns it up on the field and in life. I want to inspire my daughter to be more than she thinks she can be. I want to be her rock. This Mother’s day for the first time ever see what happened to the US Women’s soccer team. It will make you sad and it will make you happy. It will also remind you that we all need a little GIRL POWER in our lives. Support the US Women’s soccer team because supporting their dreams means you are supporting the dreams of girls like mine.
Two winners will receive a $1,000 gift card.

I have three children. The one thing they all have in common is how much they enjoy spending time with us. We try each weekend to spend most of the day enjoying one another. We go to the pool on Saturday and we play basketball on Sunday depending on the weather. The ball is currently bigger than my youngest but that doesn’t seem to matter. He runs after it and throws it towards his sister and brother. We have a blast laughing and trying to score the perfect basket.
We find that keeping your children active and finding something they enjoy is the key to success. We love to find activities that encourage teamwork and hard work. I was over the moon when I saw that the Harlem Globetrotters are coming to my town on March 1st in Charlottesville, Virginia. The reason is simple I went to a show when I was a little girl. I can’t tell you when but I do remember the time I spent with my dad and how awesome the experience was. I know all I said the whole time was “WOW, Did you see that?” I know that family friendly activities are an important component in developing a deep understanding of who our children are. It helps us get to know them and be able to meet their needs so they can be successful. I am also very selfish and I want to spend as much time as I can with them. I know that the Globetrotters are a slam dunk in my heart and soon will be in my children’s.
The Harlem Globetrotters love seeing families laugh together during our games, and would love to see your family when we come to a city near you. If you’re looking for an awesome event the whole family will enjoy, get your tickets to the Harlem Globetrotters “You Write the Rules” tour. Your family’s smiles will start before you even get to the game because this year, your family can vote at harlemglobetrotters.com, and decide rules for the game like two balls in play at the same time that could affect the final outcome. After the game, Globetrotters will stay on court to sign autographs and take photographs with your kids. The only thing better than finding an event the whole family will enjoy, is getting a great deal on it. Save $7 per ticket* by using the promo code “TOGETHER”. Get ready to experience a show your family will remember for a lifetime! *Discount available on select ticket levels
