I love to travel. It seems that my bag is often heavier than I am. I usually look like I am traveling with three friends based on the amount of things I bring and the size of my bag. I gave myself a challenge. It was to go away for 4 days and 3 nights and only bring my purse, brief case and this tiny suitcase. I was able to accomplish my goal my husband was in such shock he kept asking where my real bag was.
This is what I did to insure I had everything I needed and nothing I didn’t need. I packed my underwear first. I can’t leave home without those what would happen if there was an accident and I had dirty underwear. Then I looked at what I was going to be doing while I was in Chicago. I had a business conference, shopping, and three nights on the town to pack for. I decided the easiest thing to do was wear dresses. I packed 5 dresses and one pair of jeans and one pair of shorts and one set of pjs. I packed two shirts, a bathing suit, and 5 pairs of shoes. I wore the largest pair of shoes on the plane. I then packed up all my make up and hair care items in a plastic bag. I rolled my clothes so they fit easier and stuck my make up stuff in plastic bags in my shoes. I made sure to pack similar color stories so my shoes matched everything as did my purse. I always bring my metallic shoes because they match everything! I made sure my dresses could go from day to evening with a change of shoes. I packed so well I didn’t even wear all of the clothes I brought and I had space to bring back a couple of items.
I am traveling and my favorite thing to bring is flip-flops. I say grab a pair or several for your next trip. They are inexpensive and fashionable. They are super easy to take on and off to go through security at the airport. The best part about flip flops is they are easy to fit. They are also in fact on clearance right now. I snagged my blue flip-flops for $20.00 and my gold ones for $16.00. They are so cute and comfy and they are easy to pack. I was surprised at how well they look with jeans, shorts, and dresses. I know that walking around the city of Chicago is made bearable because I am wearing comfy and adorable flip-flops.
It all started back in high school I realized I needed to care for my skin. I was always at the beach as a teenager and I didn’t use sunscreen. It wasn’t until I got burnt in my 20’s that I really started to focus on using sunscreen. I also started using masks and home made remedies for my skin. I have normal skin it is oily in some places and dry in others. I found this awesome mask that really was easy to make a cheap. I found that making the mask and using it weekly really helped tighten my skin and leave it glowing. This was an awesome recipe because it was so inexpensive and easy to make.
I recently made it with my son and he ate the rest for a snack. I guess that was a good way to get rid of the leftovers. I intend to give all my children masks. They love to act like mom and take care of their skin. I hope you enjoy my easy to make Honey Oatmeal mask.
I know this isn’t the typical fashion friday. I am however in the process of ordering some great stuff for less than $20. I thought I would share. I get so many compliments on my Madame Deals stuff. I try to wear my brand when I can to increase interest in my business. I think it is a huge help to your business to brand yourself. If you are not talking about your brand than who is. I just ordered my 6 gifts for under $12.00 including shipping.
I am writing to let you know that you need to bring heels when trying on panties. I never realized how elevation could change how your panties sat. I found out the hard way after buying boy short panties and then wearing wedges. I ended up with a wedgie could by a wedge. It was a quick lesson because I had to run up and change my shorts. If I wanted a thong I would have grabbed one. I guess after wear ballet flats for so long I never considered a change in shoe would cause such a turn of events.
If you are looking for a great suit for yourself or your spouse. This is the time to pick one up. I know it is summer and you are not thinking of a wool suit. That is why they are on sale. I bought my husband a Calvin Klein suit for $79.99. I got it on clearance at Marshals. I know this suit retails for $400 in the major department stores. We will have to get the pants hemmed but that is a $12 expense. It is always a good idea to buy items out of season. I know my husband needs two or three new suits a year so I shop all year long to make that happen. I would rather spend $400 on three suits than $1200 or three suits. I know he needs them and I know when to look for them. I would head to your nearest Marshals, Tj maxx, or Ross store and see what they have. I have been known to buy everything I think will fit and have my husband try them on at home and return what doesn’t fit. This also makes my life easier since dragging him to the mall or the store to buy a suit is torture on both of us. I guess he is a lucky guy since I am usually able to pick out the perfect suit for a great price.
