1 c fresh kale leaves
1 c frozen berries
1/2 c fruit juice
5.3 oz container Dannon Whole Milk Yogurt, any flavor
Put all ingredients into a blender. Blend until smooth and serve immediately.
The key ingredient that you will find in every smoothie is yogurt. No matter which fruits, vegetables, juices, or supplements you add, if you don’t start with delicious, natural, whole milk yogurt your smoothie won’t be as healthy as it can be. We all want better more natural ingredients in our foods and I am happy to share that Dannon is listening. Dannon yogurt is now made with whole milk and all natural non-GMO ingredients.
In addition to yogurt made with whole milk, natural and non-GMO ingredients, Dannon has also pledged transparency and sustainability. Labels will indicate presence of non-GMO and GMO products which is a huge step to help consumers make better food chooses. They are sourcing ingredients sustainably by working directly with farmers they know.
If your like me, the main motivation behind making these smoothie is to get more fruits and vegetables into my kids. Trust me, they will have no idea you hid kale in this smoothie. But yogurt is also god for them (and you). The active cultures in bacteria help replenish the good bacteria in your gut. Those same cultures make yogurt easier to digest especially for folks who have trouble with lactose.

“It’s incredible,” She says, in her sweet voice with the southern drawl, looking around at the meal she worked on for hours that they hardly consumed. The forks well rested under the plates that are piled with veggies they declined to try. She wonders if there will ever be an end to the battle of “you need to eat your veggies” and them hiding them under the table, passing them to the dog, or the negotiation of “Can you eat these before she notices?”
She notices. We all know the struggle to have kids eat what their bodies need and our desire to provide them. The exhale that is taken when they take a bite of something new and the anticipation as we look for signs of a successful mission or a dismal fail. The absolute elation we feel when we have added another green to their diet and the struggle we have when they were denied again like a basketball player going up for a sure lay up only to be met at the last second by a defender with a long grasp. We saw victory and it was robbed at the last moment. That was until you learned the secret.
They say the secret is in the sauce. What if the secret is the sauce?
