Chutzpah: Dogs at work

Chutzpah. This is a word that is used often by myself because sometimes I just can’t believe what people do. I mean really! I thought it would be fun to share our Chutzpah moments. The only rules are no names of stores, people, or events. You may also not use inappropriate language. Leave a comment listing your favorite Chutzpah moment! I mean laughter is the best medicine.

chutzpah Or khutspe. Nerve, extreme arrogance, brazen presumption. In English, chutzpah often connotes courage or confidence, but among Yiddish speakers, it is not a compliment.

I love animals. I however do not like animals that are know biters. I recently went to a local hair salon. I saw a small dog and I really didn’t think much of the dog. That was until my child was having his hair cut and the salon owner explained my other child should not go near the dog since it bites. I kept thinking then pick up the dog and put her in the back until we leave. If you have a dog that is a known biter than it should not be in your place of business when clients are there. If you know your dog bites put a sign on the door. I would have never gone there and I will never go back. If you want to bring your dog to work make sure your dog should not be a danger to children.

I hate auto emails. Thank you for contacting me. I do not have time to read your email. I am going to send out this email telling you that what you have to say is not important. I want you to spend your money and time with me but do so without issue or question.

I mean really? Where is the customer service? I do not have an auto respond email and I receive 400 emails a day. I try to respond to everyone. If you make the time for me. I am going to find the time for you. If you make the time to follow my site and have a question or a concern. Then I will do my best to answer it.

The wet blanket. There is always one the in the crowd. The doubter. The person that has a reason to not do something. I decided to ignore the wet blankets of this world and do what I think it right. There is always one person that will try to talk you out of something. I believe it takes Chutzpah to stick to your guns and get it done.

I realize having a facebook page leaves you open to the world. It is part of my business to get to know my customers and build relationships. I enjoy talking to everyone and learning from them. I do not enjoy people who come to my page leave their business links for adult products. I do not go to your page and leave my company link. I removed the post then received an email about removing the post. I mean take a hint! We are not interested in an escort service. I tried to be nice but I am making it clear if you post inappropriate items on my page it will be deleted.

Chutzpah: Saying NO

We wait for years for our children to talk. Then they find the word “NO”. We then begin to wish they never learned how to speak. We are going through the “No” phase. I am comforted by the fact that my children say “NO Thank You.” The trick is to teach then when they have a choice and when they do not. I am working on balancing their independence with their responsibilities. My daughter was asked to take a bath. She replied “No Thanks mom” I explain this was something that was required. That resulted in a series of “No.” I said, “No” and that means “NO” responses from her. I tried not to last since she was merely repeating my directives.

I had to switch my tactics and explain that life is full of choices and this isn’t one of those time. She said, she can’t tell time. I just gave up and offered to get out the bubble bath. I think sometimes in life you just need to speak their language.
