Pampering yourself doesn’t mean that you have to spend much, it can be as easy as opening your cupboard doors and making your own skincare products such as Homemade body scrub.
Add all of the ingredients to a measuring cup and stir. Place into a container for storage. To use, simple scoop a little out with your fingers and rub on the desired part of the body. Very nice for rough places like knees and elbows.
Now that you have a couple of good, basic recipes you can play with them and add other elements to the mix. Essential oils, ground oats, replacing some or all of the sugar with coarse salt and even adding in elements like vanilla bean seeds and dried herbs and flowers are all fun and easy ways to make the recipe for scrub all your own.

After going back from an amazing Spa in New Mexico the Inn at Loretto, I fell in love with their scrub treatment. I bought a jar of their travel body scrub, but then on my way back I was thinking that I want to use it often at home and also I want to share it with my friends, that’s why I’ve been inspired to make my own versions of homemade body scrubs. My first version is the Homemade Body Scrub Sugar and Sage, it was a hit so I made another version. My second version is super easy and I used my favorite lavender scent, if you love other scent you can use it as well. This would make a super gift for friends and also perfect for a Break-up Gift idea.
Just combine all ingredients together and place it on a mason jar. If you’re giving it to friends, take some time to be creative with the presentation to make it more special. You can add some designs such as flower sticker on the mason jar lid or ribbons to make it more presentable.

I recently got back from an amazing Spa in New Mexico the Inn at Loretto and I fell in love with Homemade Body Scrub: Sugar and Sage. I bought a travel size of their scrub and it was $22.00. I figured it was cheaper than the massage. I also figured that I could try to make one that was similar for my own use at home. I went to work with my trip in mind. I also knew this would make a super gift for anything from mother’s day to teacher’s gift to a perfect pick me up for a sickness or for a break-up Gift idea and of course a nice holiday gift idea.
We all know how pricey some body products can be, that is why I made this Homemade Body Scrub! It is super simple to make, smells great, and feels wonderful on your skin! Body Scrubs are great for exfoliating your skin, and making it feel moisturized and fresh. This homemade body scrub is made with only 4 ingredients, and the sugar used in it is wonderful for your skin. The natural glycolic acid in sugar not only helps condition and moisturize skin, but protect it from toxins! And Brown sugar is gentler on your skin than white sugar, so it’s great for someone with sensitive skin. (Plus is smells great!) The oatmeal in this scrub can help treat acne, eczema, rosacea and rashes, and the olive oil used has anti-inflammatory and moisturizing properties! This homemade body scrub would be great for yourself, or to give as a gift.
Open your bathroom mirror, your purse, your makeup bag, and yes even your linen closet, I know you have a secret stash of beauty products in there. Now take a close look, no, a really close look. How much of it do you REALLY use, before it becomes just another clumped up mess at the bottom of your trash can? If you’re like me I know how much that hurts our pocket, not to mention your skin. I can almost bet, and probably win, that you suffer from sensitive skin and those products are essential to you. Well, did you know that you can make almost every single one of those products that you just pitched without having to go to a specialty store? You can make these products in just minutes and from ingredients found in your very own pantry and for a fraction of the cost.

My husband has very dry skin and we are constantly trying new things to help this problem. One of the things he found to work was the hand scrub by Beauticontrol. However, our budget cannot afford this as a frequent purchase. I came across a few posts on Pinterest about making your own scrubs at home and decided to give it a try. I could not be happier with the results. The best part of all is it is so simple to make and requires only 2 things.
Turn this into a nice DIY gift by dressing up a container with some ribbon and a card explaining how to use it.Continue reading
