Pork chops, ground beef, and chicken thighs are three items from the meat department on my grocery list every week. The reason for this is simply because there are so many different meals you can make with these ingredients. Most importantly, these proteins are the basis for meals which are easy to plan ahead of time.
You have to understand the way my schedule works. I grocery shop for the whole week after church on Sunday. Going to the store any other day of the week just doesn’t make sense with our family’s schedule. With me working a full-time weekday job and my husband working nights and weekends, we take advantage of whatever time we can to enjoy life together as a family. Meals are an important part of this together time.
In order to accomplish this together time, I plan meals which won’t keep me in the kitchen when I could be spending time with my family. My go-to recipes have always been ones which are easy to plan ahead and quick to execute.
Everyone in the family enjoys this ranch pork chop recipe because it includes that magic ingredient “Ranch dressing mix.” You can’t go wrong with ranch in our house!
I like it because it can be prepared ahead of time and freezes well. The extra added bonus is this pork chop recipe is gluten free, dairy free, and egg free.
It’s officially back to school season ya’ll! It’s time to get back into the school routine, and out of our summer mindset. One of the things that means for me is meal planing. I meal plan during the summer as well, but that is usually just for dinners and events. During the school year I like to plan all meals and snacks ahead of time so we can all stay on a smooth schedule. As most of you know, my husband is gluten and dairy free, so the rest of the household also tries to maintain the same lifestyle. I’m always looking for easy gluten free lunch and snack ideas. So when I was given the opportunity to work with Bumble Bee® Solid White Albacore in Water I knew I could come up with a fantastic weekday meal or snack with it. One of my families favorite snacks in anything with avocado so I got the idea for some super yummy and easy Gluten Free Tuna Stuffed Avocados! These take only minutes to make, are packed with protein, and taste great. They can be customized any way you like as well! Continue reading
It is that time of year again where we begin to get invited to parties and cookouts. I used to have to say no because my husband is Gluten Free. It was just awful to see him eye the dessert table and not be able to grab anything; that has all changed. That is why I am so excited to share with you the brownies and cookies we have made using Pillsbury™ Gluten Free Premium Chocolate Fudge Brownie Mix and Cookie Mixes that I found at Walmart. They are perfect and are easy gluten free desserts for picnic. I now volunteer to make desserts everywhere we go. It seems that dessert is the hardest to find at cookouts for people with Gluten problems. I always feel bad that my husband didn’t have any treats to pick from at these events. Before Pillsbury™ came out with their Gluten Free Premium Cake Mixes, Brownie Mix, Cookie Mixes, and icings available at Walmart the most common problem with making gluten free recipes was cost and time. I always felt like it cost to much to make Gluten Free Desserts and the ones I made tasted horrible. They never came out right, and I spent a lot of time and money making them. I was frustrated.Continue reading
Are you looking for a Gluten-Free treat? You know one that is easy to make, tastes exceptional, and is budget friendly and belly approved? I have been searching for one because we are Pillsbury™ people and their brownies, cakes, and cookies fill my cabinet. I stopped making them as often as I used to because my husband couldn’t eat them with us because he is gluten free. I felt awful eating a slice of cake when he didn’t have anything to eat. I just can’t find any good gluten free cake mixes for cupcakes to use and make. That is why when Pillsbury™ introduced their gluten-free line. I bought every single product they had. I had to try them because for the past year and a half since my husband went Gluten-Free he also went treat free. It was horrible! Who doesn’t want a piece of cake or a cookie every now and then?
As many of you know my husband has adopted a gluten free and dairy free lifestyle, so now I am learning to adapt to his new dietary needs. So it has been a learning process for me, and something I am happy to share with anyone else that might need the same type of recipes. Over the weekend I had a craving for pie and I knew I had to find a gluten free dairy free pie crust recipe and after trying a few out I found one that I loved and worked like a charm! Making a pie crust from scratch is so easy. If you didn’t make it you would have no idea that this recipe was gluten free and dairy free! Continue reading
I know a lot of people love watching football, but as for me and my family are concerned, MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) is the sport of choice. So when a new fight comes on TV we like to have viewing parties with our friends. Because what is more fun than watching someone get beat up while eating good food and laughing with friends right?Continue reading
