I remember looking so forward to summer. I would count down the days, hours, and minute until that last bell echoed in the crowded hallway. I remember being part of the wave of children that emptied onto the bus waving goodbye to my friends. The smile was plastered onto my face as I made my way home. I was elated. That was until I arrived at my front door.Continue reading
Father’s day is just a few days a way. It’s that time of the year to honor the great fathers in our lives, to thank them for their sacrifices and their love. It’s been more than a decase since my father passed but I still get teary eyed whenever I remember my wonderful and selfless father. He’s the simplest person that I have known, luxury for him is having the time to just sit and relax in our garden, barefoot walking in the grass while he admired his plants. Gifting him was tricky because he would just tell us that he doesn’t want any. New clothes and shoes would just end up on his cabinet for years because he preferred to wear out his old ones first. Stuff he can’t use would be donated and given to those who needed it. Then one day my brother brought home this cool outdoor grill and we saw our father’s eyes lit up, it was so memorable for all of us because he was so happy. How I wish he was still here to see his grandchildren and grill for them. He would have loved all those awesome grills available right now.
Now that I have a family of my own, I also wanted to see my husband’s eyes lit up when we surprise him with a gift. Luckily he loves the outdoors and I have lots of options to choose from at Amazon.
Father’s Day is almost here! Every year my little one and I love to make my husband something homemade that he can cherish forever! (We also throw in a gift card with it so he can get something he wants ha!). Over the years, we have come up with some pretty cool stuff. This year we are making him a picture frame for my daughter’s dance picture to go in his locker at work paired with an Amazon gift card and dinner wherever he wants to go. (Don’t tell him ok!?). I was thinking some of you might be looking for some last minute great Father’s Day gift ideas so I wanted to share with you some of the awesome crafts that the Real Advice Gal team and I have made so far, and I hope one of these crafts is perfect for the dad in your life! Fathers Day is almost here, and if there is one thing I want to make sure my husband knows this Fathers Day, it’s how much I appreciate him. My husband and I are pretty young parents (He is 28, I’m about to be 27) of a rocking 7 year old who is the light in both of our lives. Having her so young meant that we had to grow up before a lot of our friends, and I’ll admit, it was hard. Hard but so worth it. We traded in late nights out with friends for late nights rocking our baby back to sleep. We traded trips to Vegas, to trips to Disney World, and my husband traded his rockstar dreams for a degree and a night job. Continue reading
I love sitting down to Make Your Own Candy Bouquets for almost every occasion and Father’s Day is no different. I have never met a dad who doesn’t like chocolate so a Candy Bouquet is the perfect gift to satisfy their sweet tooth when you don’t know what else to give them. Most Make Your Own Candy Bouquets normally call for a vase or fancy centerpiece but these are usually a little over the top for a Father’s Day Candy Bouquet so I would suggest a themed coffee mug or a commuter mug. Make sure that the theme is one they will appreciate so that it gets used and not shoved to the back of the cupboard. In just a few simple steps you can Make Your Own Candy Bouquets for Father’s Day and have a gift ready for giving. Continue reading
Give dad what he really wants for Valentine’s Day or Father’s day, a Bacon Bouquet!! It’s a fun way to give dad something really unique! I found this idea on an Ecard last week, and I knew I just had to give it a try! It’s super easy to make, and is sure to give dad a giggle when he receives it. The whole process takes about an hour, and 40 mins of that is cook time. It’s also easy enough that you can get your kids involved! My little girl (5) put this all together (minus putting in and taking out of the oven) all by herself! The only problem is trying to cover up the bacon smell while you’re making it!
