Art projects and crafts have kind of always been “my thing”. I am one of those “weird” people who don’t mind playdough and glitter. I love watching my kids create things and draw pictures but, we don’t always have the needed supplies on hand to create what they want to. This is where ready to use kits come in.
Crafting Kits are boxes or containers that come with all the needed supplies and directions to create the project.
I used to try to avoid using kits. I felt like I was cheating my kids out of valuable crafting time and the ability to use their imagination. However, this is not the case by any means. Just because the kits contain all the needed materials, doesn’t mean that it will take any less time to complete the project. The only time it truly saves is those few minutes it takes to gather all the supplies. So, they really aren’t missing anything by using premade kits.
I love these kits because, while the general idea of the project is there, kids can still be creative with it. While it comes with all the materials, your kids can still make it their own. The directions are there as a guide but, creativity doesn’t need to be limited.
Even if you give several kids the same kit, each project will turn out differently. Just because everyone is provided with the same materials, they will interpret it differently. That is the beauty of letting them be in charge of their creativity.
Finding crafting kits is so easy. They can be found at Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Michael’s, Joann’s and on Amazon. I’m sure many other stores carry them as well but, those are just the few places that popped into my mind.
