#MyPBJMoment School has been back in session a few weeks now, and we are slowly getting back in to the groove of everything. We have gotten back into our school schedule, but we still have to make time for a little fun right!? So every Friday my family and I have movie night. We rotate who gets to pick the movie and what snack they want to go with it. So this week was my daughters turn to pick so she decided on the Descendants and popcorn.
But who wants just regular old popcorn every week? Not us! So we decided to head to the pantry and see what we could come up with. We always have Smucker’s Jelly and Peanut Butter on hand. Smucker’s Fruit Spreads are my go-to, because I know I can count on their authentic tastes and quality ingredients. So we thought we would try making some PB&J Popcorn! Yep, you read that correctly. PB&J Popcorn. What could be better than combining your favorite snack with your favorite sandwich? And the best part? It only takes a couple minutes to make! Let’s check it out:
Here is how to make my PB&J Popcorn Recipe:
You Will Need:
- 4 Cups Popped Popcorn
- 1 tbsp Peanut Butter
- 1 tbsp Smucker’s Jelly in whatever flavor you like best. We loved the Red Raspberry flavor
- 1/2 cup White Chocolate Chips divided
Step 1: Separate your chocolate into 2 bowls. In one bowl add your peanut butter, and in the other, add your Smucker’s Jelly. Microwave your bowls for about a minute each and stir. If you still have chunks in your sauce pop it back in the microwave for an additional 10 seconds until smooth.
Step 2: Pour your popcorn on a cookie sheet in a single layer. Start with your creamy peanut butter sauce and begin pouring your sauce over 1/2 of the popcorn with a spoon. Make sure not to make it too thick. You want a good balance of sweet and salty in every bite!
Step 3: Now it’s time to add the Smucker’s Jelly sauce. I don’t know why, but it pairs perfectly with the white chocolate. Your will pour this over the other side of the popcorn just like you did on the peanut butter side. YUM. (Note- do be careful, as these sauces will be HOT.)
Step 4: Let your popcorn rest so the sauce can cool. Once cooled, break apart, add to a bowl and pop in a movie! You guys, my family went nuts over this PB&J Popcorn Recipe! I had to make more before the movie was even over, ha!
