Advanced Blogging tips

Advanced Blogging Tips

Advanced Blogging tips are those that really deal with how to make money at this whole blogging thing. Here are some of my favorite posts on doing that.

How to pitch  Monetizing your site  We have tons of Ask a Blogger articles.

Blogging Tip

You now have the  Beginners Blogging Tips. If you do need them then read my Beginners Blogging Tips Post.

I would suggest using the Genesis Platform for your wordpress site. Genesis Framework <=== buy it here. You can check out what domain, hosting, and email I suggested on my Beginners Blogging Tips.

If you are having trouble with shared hosting. I would suggest Liquid web hosting. I had so many problems with 8 other hosting companies. This was the only one that worked. I consider your host the most important item you can buy. It doesn’t matter how wonderful your site is. How pretty the design is if your site is always down. You need a site that is reliable I mean don’t you have something better to do than talk to your hosting company? I have been asked on several occasions how is their customer service? The answer I have is I really do not know I speak with them so infrequently I do not worry about it. They handle my calls or chat quickly and have been very helpful in helping a site that in the past has been a huge problem stay operational. They were also cheaper than my last host and if you factor in the time I spent dealing with my site being down and the revenue I lost… oh my!

I learned how to add an image Gallery today ….

Go to add Media

Then Select CREATE Gallery……………..

Select the pictures you wish for your gallery. You can move them around in the order you select. They should be clickable to the post that they were placed in.

This is an example each of these image will direct you to the post they were used it.

Are Flu Shots Necessary?

Thursday

Should companies have the right to force you to get a flu shot?

*The original story for this post can be found HERE, all information has come from WFTV.com

Today on Thought Provoking Thursday I wanted to see what your opinion was on company rules, and how far their rights go when it comes to what they expect from their employees. I was checking out the recent articles on Abcnews.com and stumbled across an article I thought was kind of strange, A Florida man was fired from his job after refusing to get the new company requirement, a flu shot. Are Flu Shots Necessary?

Save Money Groceries

Tips Tuesday – Save Money Groceries

Save Money Groceries

Save Money Groceries

I am the first one to admit to regularly falling off the “budget bandwagon.” It generally happens when there is too much going on in our lives. It’s days when I feel I just can’t be bothered with checking to see if there is a coupon for an item, when I forget to bring my coupons to the store, or when I become too distracted by everything around me to even care.

Here’s an example, you go to the grocery store to pick up a gallon of milk and happen to run across half a dozen or more other items you just “must have.” You then purchase those items. The $4 trip to pick up milk has now turned into a $30+ trip which includes items we most likely didn’t really need right now. Repeat this scenario enough times and it’s enough to throw a wrench into an entire month’s grocery budget.

Here’s my Save Money Groceries tip in order to avoid this scenario.  I recently started keeping a small steno pad in my purse. I generally have three lists running; one for groceries, one for non-grocery items, and one which is a “to do” list. Before I head into the store for groceries or sundries, I tear out the appropriate list and scribble big $$$ signs on it with a highlighter. Yes, I keep a highlighter in my bag of tricks! This is a reminder to me that purchasing anything more than what is on the list is wasting money out of my grocery budget.

My husband always keeps a running list of things we need on a sticky note in the kitchen. When he goes to the store, he buys what is on the list and only what is on the list. I have yet to figure out exactly how he does it but with this new system I have, I’m hoping it will become crystal clear.

How do you keep from repeating this same money wasting scenario? Let us know so we can share it with our readers!

Amazon Music Samples

Amazon Music Samples

Amazon Music Samples 2

There is nothing worse than buying and downloading a new song  only to find out it is the wrong song, wrong version of the song, or it isn’t sung by the performer you thought it was. I also dread buying an entire album only to find that there are only a few songs I want to listen to. Most people do not even by the CDs anymore but rely on digital copies they can sync to all their electronic devices so they always have their playlists available and ready to listen to. I buy most of my music from the Amazon Music Store because of the Amazon Music Samples. Continue reading

Wrestling With Winter: Living With Post Holiday Let-Down

Change is good. Change is inevitable. Be the change…blah blah blah. I’ve written about it. I’ve tried to be the change and yet recently I found myself sitting in a pool of self-pity, sadness and tears and not having an idea as to why. For the past 57 days I have followed a healthy eating plan, been to the gym practically every day, have lost a significant amount of weight and my physical body feels great. However, for some reason my emotional self has struggled recently forcing me to stop and focus on trying to figure out why. I’m changing in great ways so what is it that is bringing me down? I should be celebrating the New Year with great joy; I am not.Continue reading
