Nutrisystem Week 1 Check in- I lost how many pounds!? #NSNation
*Disclosure: I was provided Nutrisystem free of charge to facilitate this review, no other compensation was received, and as always, all thoughts and opinions are my own 🙂
As most of you know, I started Nutrisystem last week, and what a week it was! It’s amazing to realize how much I was eating before the program, and how hard it was to adjust to the way I’m supposed to be eating. I love that I am able to share my journey weekly with you, and how it keeps me accountable for my health! I’ll admit, last week was hard, but SO worth it! And here is why….
Here is how Week 1 on Nutrisystem went for me:
Week 1 on Nutrisystem is what is called the “Fast 5 program” It’s a way to jump start the program and help you lose 5 pounds in your first week. Pretty awesome right!? They tell you that you can lose 5 pounds in your first week, what they don’t tell you is that it isn’t going to be easy! (But nothing worth doing ever is right!?). I will admit to you that most of the week, I was starving, moody, and grumpy. But I knew this wasn’t Nutrisystem’s fault, it was mine. I had let myself slip in to old habits of overeating, eating when I was bored, and snacking all day. Not being able to munch on some chips while working, or grabbing a candy bar while watching a movie was the hardest thing for me. Oh, and did I mention for 4 days of the program I was on Vacation? Oh yeah.
So let’s talk about so good things, and not so good things that happened during my first week on Nutrisystem.
The Food- I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food tasted! I didn’t have one thing that I couldn’t (at least) tolerate. The photo above was my favorite item, the Loaded Baked Potatoes! They were creamy and filling, and I am going to be sure to get more of them in my next shipment! For the Fast 5 week you diet was pretty strict, you could have a Nutrisystem entree for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and as many non-starchy veggies as you wanted. That was it. Nothing else. No cheese….or fruit…or chips..(ha!) and I am NOT a big veggie eater, so this was really hard for me. I basically lived on carrots and celery (with no ranch to dip it in!) for 7 days.
The Cravings- Oh the cravings. I mentioned that the food was good, but it was such a smaller portion than I was used to eating, so I admit that I stayed hungry a lot. Luckily Nutrisystem provided some yummy shakes that helped with the cravings for snacks and something sweet. For the shakes I must insist you invest in a blender bottle, they really make sure the shakes are well blended and yummy!
Ok ok, so now you want to know exactly how much weight I lost this week right?
