Nutrisystem Check In Week 3: My love/hate relationship with the grocery store

Well I am finished with week 3 of NutrisystemIt’s gotten much easier since week one and I am down a total of 16 pounds! 10 pounds the first week, 4 last week, and 2 this week! I think my body is getting used to the amount of food I’m supposed to be eating, and it makes the whole process much easier! I’ve noticed I have more energy, and I’m actually starting to like food again haha! 

But I still have a love/hate relationship with the grocery store.

The thing about doing Nutrisystem when you have a family, is that you realize you still have to cook for the rest of your family. My husband and daughter still want to be fed, and both of them have metabolisms that put mine to shame. So while grocery shopping this week was hard, I got through it, and feel better because of it!

In the photo above is my portion of the groceries. Yummy string cheese, hummus, fruits, veggies, wheat bread, and eggs. All of that I can add in with my nutrisystem meals. What you don’t see is the chicken nuggets, potato chips, and soda that my husband bought. Well, that I bought, and brought home to him.

I realized that Iused to reward myself with food a lot. Do a good job on an assignment, let’s go out for dinner, my daughter got a good grade on a test, ice cream it is! So this week, knowing I couldn’t reward myself with food, I went out and bought a new lamp for my room. I realized that I will enjoy that lamp much longer then I would have a cheeseburger. That realization means more to me than the pounds I lost this week! It means I’m changing my thinking! I told you guys in my first Nutrisystem blog post that I wasn’t in this to hit a certain weight goal. my goal was to change my relationship with food, and I think I’m heading in the right direction, what do you think?

All in all, Nutrisystem week 3 was a very eye opening week! And I still get to eat my favorite food, pizza 🙂
