Are you Fever Ready?

Anytime my child gets sick all we want to do as a parent and make it better as soon as possible. When my daughter gets a fever either from her shots, from teething or just from catching a bug, I tract her temperature every 15 minutes because they can spike very quickly! My go to medicine choice to bring her fever down and keep it down is FeverAll® Infants’ Strength Acetaminophen Suppositories.

As a new mom I wasn’t sure when to give her medicine or when a fever was too high. FeverAll made it very clear as well when to give my daughter medicine. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, fever in babies begins at 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit. Of course, call your physician about any concerns with fever in your child. Using a digital rectal thermometer will provide the most accurate reading of a baby’s temperature. When my daughter was first born we had her wrapped up in her new soft blanket and my dad was holding her very close, as he should being a grandpa for the first time. When the doctor came in to check on all of us the doctor said she felt very warm. Just because she was warm didn’t mean she had a fever. You can overdress a baby as well, even in colder weather. Always double check with a rectal thermometer to make sure it accurate! Watch FeverAll® Hot Topic: What is the best way to take a baby’s temperature? to know more on why and how you should use rectal thermometer.

I also learned quickly to not freak out with every fever too. A fever just means the body is fighting off an infection. My daughter usually gets a very low grade fever when her teeth start coming through. If your little one is less then six month old please contact your pediatrician if you have any questions! But stock up on FeverAll either at Wal-Mart, CVS, Walgreens and several other fine retailers.

Use FeverAll® only as directed. If you have specific questions about fever, acetaminophen or using FeverAll®, speak with your child’s pediatrician.
