Fall Fashion Trends – The spotlight is on aubergine!

This is a Fashionista Event Opportunity, and is hosted by Still Blonde after all these YEARS and Modly Chic.

Are you ready for fall fashion? Ready or not fall is fast approaching and this fall bold colors are going to be one of the hottest trends. I have to admit I am a stay safe with neutrals and muted shades kinda girl but I just love love love one of the hot colors this fall – aubergine – and I really want to include it in my fall wardrobe. So to get comfortable and confident with color I am adding it to my wardrobe a splash at a time.

Fall Fashion Trends – The spotlight is on aubergine!

Aubergine is a easy color to work into your wardrobe for us gals who like the neutrals especially gray. To show you how I am going to update my fall wardrobe with aubergine I did a little shopping at Monroe and Main. I picked out and ordered this fabulous Street Chic Sweater because comfortable chunky sweaters will also be trendy this fall. Fashion Tip: Don’t feel like you need to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe every season. You can add one or two trendy pieces and reuse them in different outfits to create several different looks without breaking the bank. So yes, the sweater is mostly grey however it has several splashes of aubergine. Remember, I am color shy and need to take baby steps.

First look: Comfy Casual

This look is inspired by the cooler temperatures of fall and getting cozy and comfortable. It is totally casual and totally comfortable while giving me the boost of confidence from my favorite fall color aubergine. To get this look I put the sweater on over a pair of grey leggings and an aubergine t-shirt, added some ballet flats, and some chunky earrings. Remember ladies- leggings are not pants! So make sure you keep your sweater buttoned when wearing it over your leggings.

Second look – Date night or girl’s night out

My new sweater also goes nicely with jeans and boots and lord knows we love our boots, right? So same Street Chic sweater, same -t shirt now add some jeans and your favorite boots. That’s it so easy to totally switch up your look. With this option you can wear the sweater open or closed since you have jeans on and not leggings.  Perfect for day into evening because you can button up when it starts to get chilly. Wearing the sweater open adds more of the great aubergine color to the look and I think it is just the right amount of color for me. I love this outfit and feel great in it. I think aubergine is a great color for fall.
