How to Make Fresh Basil Pesto Without Nuts
  • ⅓ cup parmesan (my container had a weight of 2.5 oz)
  • 1 bunch basil
  • ½ cup of cilantro
  • ½ cup olive oil (start with ¼ cup and work your way up)
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1-2 tsp lemon juice
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes
  1. Wash and pat dry basil leaves.
  2. Pour ¼ cup Olive Oil in bottom of blender.
  3. Add in half of the basil leaves, cilantro, garlic, lemon juice, salt, pepper and red pepper flakes.
  4. Pulse the blender a few times.
  5. Add the remaining basil leaves and olive oil.
  6. Pulse the blender again.
