Let Nature Do the Work

Every year we take a week-long trip to Minnesota in the fall. When we got there last year my 2 year old daughter was excited to explore her new surroundings. She picked up many things and explored their feelings and smells and just had fun with it. Once the travel insomnia wore off my brain started working again and off we went to grab a bag to collect items!

Once we got back we took out our paints and paper then, used the new objects to paint with. She picked up everything from grass to pine cones and sticks. Exploring how each one made a different pattern was intriguing for her. She figured out that leaves could be used like stamps and sticks could work like pencils!

Simple changes to a normal project, makes it seem new and exciting to your little one!!! What creative items has your little one painted with??
