I finally did it I went to a color run. I decided to try out the Color Me Rad race. I was so excited. I had everything I was going to wear picked out then. I heard all of these horror stories of the color staying on you for days and weeks. I do not have days or weeks to be covered in color. I need to know what I would have to do to get clean and do it quickly. I had a limited about of time to get it done! In case you do not know the color run is a race usually 5k or 3.1 miles filled with people of all shapes and sizes. They are usually wearing white. They sometimes wear costumes and tutus. The wear everything from crazy socks, to bridal veils. Then throw in necklaces, tiaras, tacky socks, and shirts with silly slogans. The best advice I received was a color run cleaning tips.

  • oil your hair with olive oil or coconut oil. This will help make the color removal easier
  • braid your hair or wear a bandana or hat
  • cover your eyes with glasses or goggles
  • wear clothes that you are willing to throw away if needed (I was able to get my color out with my homemade laundry soap.) Homemade Laundry soap
  • Once you are done the race you will need to dust off with a towel
  • Then I would use a baby wipe to get off what is remaining on your face. You may still be a little stained. I was able to use vaseline and get my color off
  • I had some remaining color in my hair so I used a little baking soda and dawn dish soap  and that got it right out
  • I used a nail brush for my nails
  • Do not forget to Q-tip the outer edge of the ear
