Having a fun get together for Mardi Gras this year? We always like to have a little fun and bring the Mardi Gras spirit to Tennessee each year by throwing a party! But unlike most Mardi Gras festivities we have children involved so I wanted to make a (non alcoholic) Mardi Gras punch recipe! It’s a fun punch that is easy to make and really brings the spirit with traditional Mardi Gras colors!
Christmas is almost here ya’ll! This year we are throwing a Christmas party for our family and friends and I wanted to make a fun drink to serve at the party. I asked my daughter what we should serve and she said she wanted something “green because that is the best Christmas color” Ha! So I thought what would be more fun than a Grinch Punch!? How the Grinch Stole Christmas is my daughters favorite Christmas movie so we had fun making this easy Christmas Drink Recipe that I’m sure our friends and family will love. I figured out an easy way to warm up after the snow. I make crockpot hot chocolate. There are two things I love during the winter they are Starbucks hot chocolate and my slow cooker I decided to combine the two. This is a recipe for “Starbucks like” hot cocoa or Starbucks Hot Chocolate. It is sweet and savory. It is the perfect answer to a long day outside and something my kids have grown to request after a play outside in the cold.
I saw this gorgeous picture in one of those amazing magazines not the one above that is actually the picture of the recipe I made. It was a pitcher of water with cucumbers. I thought it would taste great. I bought a cucumber and I put it in some water. I mean this is how to make cucumber water. I thought it tasted good but then I heard about the benefits of adding both lemon and mint to the cucumber water to create a cucumber detox water.Continue reading
Disclosure: I received compensation from P.F. Chang’s Home Menu for my participation in this campaign. I am part of the Mom It Forward Influencer Network.
While a night on the town used to hold so much excitement, as a busy mom approaching my forties like a freight train barreling down the tracks, I find myself wanting to stay in more and more. I have also found that a night in can be just as much fun, if not more, than a night out.
Inspired by the new family size meal options from P.F. Chang’s Home Menu, offered in Orange Chicken and Chicken Fried Rice, I decided to go all out and create a night at home that rivals any night out at a restaurant. Wok Wednesday is our new family tradition! Combining several easy to make P.F. Chang’s Home Menu skillet meals and appetizers with several fun Asian cocktails makes for a fantastic mid-week celebration of family and fun. I also made a mocktail for the kids so everyone could toast the occasion.Continue reading
I have kids and unfortunately they are not old enough to drink beverages with alcohol nor do I really want them to be old enough yet or drink. We developed these Cocktails and Mocktails Recipes for them and myself. I do not drink but I hate going to a party and being the only one that doesn’t drink. I am a girly girl and I love a good looking drink without alcohol. I am the kind of chick that drives people to drink. HA, HA, HA, what I love about this recipe is you make up the recipe and then you can add a shot of rum or vodka to the drink to make it a cocktail. I find it to be refreshing and lovely without the vodka or rum but others like that extra bit of courage or as my friend calls it “relaxing juice”.
Cocktails and Mocktails Recipes
The difference between a cocktail and mocktail is leaving out the liquor.
This is how you create our fancy lemonade mocktail:
Gather a nice glass, a pitcher, 4 cups of water, Frozen lemonade, bottle of Lemon Lime soda, and a handle full of fresh berries for a garnish. We like strawberries the best. Then of course you need a lemon because lemonade without a fresh lemon isn’t lemonade. I have made this fancier by dipping the rim of the glass in sugar. I used this technique in my cheap cake decorating post.
