Happy almost spring everyone! Here in Tennessee we have our first thunderstorm warning which can only mean one thing, spring is almost here! Springtime is probably my favorite time of the year. The flowers start to bloom, it’s warm without being super hot, and we get to step out into the sunshine (almost) all the time. Perfect!Continue reading
It’s a beautiful day outside down here in the south today! The perfect day to do some crafts with my daughter (which we did!). Can you believe we are only a few weeks away from Easter!? This week we are heading to Orlando for Spring Break, so I wanted to get some Easter Crafts done early so we would have some fun stuff already lined up for when we get back. So I bring you this Easy Easter Bunny Paper Plate Craft that your kids will have a blast making and it uses stuff you probably already have at home! y daughter loved making this, and thought it was cool that she didn’t have to have any help to do this. She could do it all by herself! Continue reading
When I looked outside this morning I saw something I haven’t seen in about 2 or 3 months, sunshine! What a beautiful site! The sunshine got me in the mood to make a fun Easter Project to share with all of you! My daughters absolute favorite Easter (or really, any other time of year) candy are Peeps! What’s not to love about a sugar covered marshmallow in cute little shapes right!?
So over the weekend we made these super cute Edible Easter Peeps Houses that would be perfect for a fun and easy Easter Project to make with your kids. My daughter had a great time making (and eating) her Peeps House! Lets check out how to make it:
You Will Need:
First, you will grab your gram crackers and break them in half. You will need 6 piece total. Using your frosting construct your house. (1 for the bottom, 2 for the sides, 1 for the back, and 2 for the top).
Next, When your house is complete it will look like the one above. Let dry. before messing with it. (Trust me, if you get impatient and try to add stuff to it before it’s dry it will fall and make you really sad.)
Then, pour some of your shredded coconut into a bowl and put a few drops of green food coloring into the bowl and mix. This will be the grass for your peep to sit on!
Finally, Sprinkle some “grass” on the bottom of your peeps house and decorate with candy eggs, and of course don’t forget to add your Peeps! Don’t they look cute!?

No need to adjust your screen, those really are brightly colored Easter Deviled Eggs! This is a super fun and easy recipe to share with your friends and family for Easter, and your kids will LOVE it! Me and my 4 year old had a great time making them, and they tasted super yummy!
One thing that I love about holidays is getting my kids dressed for special events. In general I don’t usually go out of my way to buy brand-new or name brand clothing for my kids because they are very rough and tumble on clothes and being a frugal minded person I don’t usually see the point in buying things new and not used. When it comes to holidays though, I make an exception because for me pictures are worth 1000 words and special articles of clothing often mark those occasions perfectly!
One of my favorite frugal yet completely no-brainier easy ways to buy holiday clothes is on Amazon.com with my Amazon Prime account. Because most of the time holiday clothes only need to be worn for a picture, party, or one day of fun, they do not need to be the highest quality. Thank goodness you can order in a hurry and have a pretty accurate time frame of delivery as well as the ability to return for free if you are unhappy with the product or the fit isn’t right. All of that is included free with your Amazon Prime membership.Continue reading
It may be officially Spring but that does not mean that Winter is not hanging around to see how much trouble it can cause. With Easter only 4 weeks away, the desire for fresh air, bright colors, and a renewed sense of being are pounding on the door. I decided that in order to beat away the Winter blues, my daughter and I could create an Easter Egg Crafts. We could then pay it forward by gifting it to someone to help brighten up their day. I followed my own advice in How to Save on Crafts and headed to the Dollar Store to pick up our crafting supplies. Since we were doing a mommy/daughter easy Easter craft, I let my daughter use her imagination for the supplies that we would need. Check out how you can create this Easter Egg Crafts and add some color to your home. Continue reading
