I run my dishwasher almost daily and buying dishwasher detergent just eats away at budget even with coupons. So when I came across the recipe for Homemade Dishwasher Detergent, I just had to try it. I have been using it for about 8 months and have converted my mother to use it also. It is simple to mix, store, and use.
I love love love the way these sweet flowers look. They are also easy to make and a great way to add a extra special touch to any project. You can use them to decorate vases, wreaths, or even make a bouquet of burlap flowers. I hope you will enjoy learning how to make burlap flowers as much as I enjoyed doing it. Now that I know how to do this I want to glue these cute flowers on everything.
When I looked outside this morning I saw something I haven’t seen in about 2 or 3 months, sunshine! What a beautiful site! The sunshine got me in the mood to make a fun Easter Project to share with all of you! My daughters absolute favorite Easter (or really, any other time of year) candy are Peeps! What’s not to love about a sugar covered marshmallow in cute little shapes right!?
So over the weekend we made these super cute Edible Easter Peeps Houses that would be perfect for a fun and easy Easter Project to make with your kids. My daughter had a great time making (and eating) her Peeps House! Lets check out how to make it:
You Will Need:
First, you will grab your gram crackers and break them in half. You will need 6 piece total. Using your frosting construct your house. (1 for the bottom, 2 for the sides, 1 for the back, and 2 for the top).
Next, When your house is complete it will look like the one above. Let dry. before messing with it. (Trust me, if you get impatient and try to add stuff to it before it’s dry it will fall and make you really sad.)
Then, pour some of your shredded coconut into a bowl and put a few drops of green food coloring into the bowl and mix. This will be the grass for your peep to sit on!
Finally, Sprinkle some “grass” on the bottom of your peeps house and decorate with candy eggs, and of course don’t forget to add your Peeps! Don’t they look cute!?

Recently I had some success at being a “Pinterest perfect mom” by making these wonderful cookies with my Wilton Cookie Press. Coming off of that high, I want to do more Pinterest DIY Projects so I decided that Easter crafts are the logical next step.
Boy was I wrong! I found a cute craft my friend Sarah on Facebook had done with her children earlier in the day. She often has the most wonderful crafts on her page. She is the Pinterest mom I long to be. She sent me the pin and I (in my infinite wisdom) decided that I obviously knew better then the original crafter on how best to accomplish it.Continue reading
Easter Egg Crafts – “Eggcellent” Wreath
It may be officially Spring but that does not mean that Winter is not hanging around to see how much trouble it can cause. With Easter only 4 weeks away, the desire for fresh air, bright colors, and a renewed sense of being are pounding on the door. I decided that in order to beat away the Winter blues, my daughter and I could create an Easter Egg Crafts. We could then pay it forward by gifting it to someone to help brighten up their day. I followed my own advice in How to Save on Crafts and headed to the Dollar Store to pick up our crafting supplies. Since we were doing a mommy/daughter easy Easter craft, I let my daughter use her imagination for the supplies that we would need. Check out how you can create this Easter Egg Crafts and add some color to your home. Continue reading
It’s a beautiful day outside down here in the south today! The perfect day to do some crafts with my daughter (which we did!). Can you believe we are only a few weeks away from Easter!? This week we are heading to Orlando for Spring Break, so I wanted to get some Easter Crafts done early so we would have some fun stuff already lined up for when we get back. So I bring you this Easy Easter Bunny Paper Plate Craft that your kids will have a blast making and it uses stuff you probably already have at home! y daughter loved making this, and thought it was cool that she didn’t have to have any help to do this. She could do it all by herself! Continue reading
