Are you ready for fall fashion? Ready or not fall is fast approaching and this fall bold colors are going to be one of the hottest trends. I have to admit I am a stay safe with neutrals and muted shades kinda girl but I just love love love one of the hot colors this fall – aubergine – and I really want to include it in my fall wardrobe. So to get comfortable and confident with color I am adding it to my wardrobe a splash at a time.
Fall Fashion Trends – The spotlight is on aubergine!
Aubergine is a easy color to work into your wardrobe for us gals who like the neutrals especially gray. To show you how I am going to update my fall wardrobe with aubergine I did a little shopping at Monroe and Main. I picked out and ordered this fabulous Street Chic Sweater because comfortable chunky sweaters will also be trendy this fall. Fashion Tip: Don’t feel like you need to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe every season. You can add one or two trendy pieces and reuse them in different outfits to create several different looks without breaking the bank. So yes, the sweater is mostly grey however it has several splashes of aubergine. Remember, I am color shy and need to take baby steps.
First look: Comfy Casual
This look is inspired by the cooler temperatures of fall and getting cozy and comfortable. It is totally casual and totally comfortable while giving me the boost of confidence from my favorite fall color aubergine. To get this look I put the sweater on over a pair of grey leggings and an aubergine t-shirt, added some ballet flats, and some chunky earrings. Remember ladies- leggings are not pants! So make sure you keep your sweater buttoned when wearing it over your leggings.
Second look – Date night or girl’s night out
My new sweater also goes nicely with jeans and boots and lord knows we love our boots, right? So same Street Chic sweater, same -t shirt now add some jeans and your favorite boots. That’s it so easy to totally switch up your look. With this option you can wear the sweater open or closed since you have jeans on and not leggings. Perfect for day into evening because you can button up when it starts to get chilly. Wearing the sweater open adds more of the great aubergine color to the look and I think it is just the right amount of color for me. I love this outfit and feel great in it. I think aubergine is a great color for fall.

You take her to make a Honey Girl Build a Bear because she likes fashion, to dance, sing, and play with her brother. This bear is one that you can share your life with and live your adventure.
Girls will surely be excited with these new furry friends from Build-A-Bear Workshop, check out their newest product line called Honey Girls. This product line was designed to encourage children to find their passions and overcome obstacles by instilling a sense of confidence and inspiring self-expression. I love this! It’s important give our kids inspiration at an early age and to instill to them that they have the power to be who they want to be, that they are free to express themselves and succeed in whatever they choose to do.
The Honey Girls – Teegan, Risa and Viv – met at school and formed their own band. Music brought the Honey Girls together, but their friendship keeps them together.

You know me as the Real Advice Gal in my spare time I am the soccer mom. I spend my nights and weekends on the sideline. If you know me at all you know I love dresses so I made myself one specially for soccer, my students created the Wonder Woman graphic because it takes superhero power to manage it all. Do you know why I am so dedicated to soccer?
I have three children and they all love soccer. This week one of the parents sent out an email saying my daughter who is in first grade has natural talent. The truth is she loves soccer. She sets a goal before each game to get so many goals and so many assists. You knows what an assist is because she studies the game when her older brother plays on the travel team. This past weekend she got 5 goals and 2 assists and she in her own words “showed those boys girl power”. I am a huge fan of empowering girl through sports. We stress a healthy lifestyle, fitness, pride, work ethic, and good old fashion fun. We also encourage our children to be themselves.
Last weekend we celebrated Mother’s day and one of the stories that touched my heart was when the U.S. Soccer reunited the U.S. Women’s National Team members with their moms over Mother’s Day Weekend.
On Saturday night, as the team prepared for a send-off game vs. Ireland (in San Jose, CA) in advance of the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, the team received an awesome surprise when Fox Sports flew out every player’s mom. It was so touching to see these women be reunited with their moms for Mother’s day. Then, on Sunday during the U.S.A. vs. Ireland game (at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, Ca) a unique breaking of tradition took place. Rather than taking the field with youth soccer members to enter the stadium, the players walked out with their moms in a heartwarming tribute to Mother’s Day and moms across America.
Watch the heartwarming video below:
I am so inspired by the One Nation, One Team, 23 Stories of our Women’s National Soccer team. I want to be the kind of mom that these women have. I want to be the mom that cheers on her little girl as she turns it up on the field and in life. I want to inspire my daughter to be more than she thinks she can be. I want to be her rock. This Mother’s day for the first time ever see what happened to the US Women’s soccer team. It will make you sad and it will make you happy. It will also remind you that we all need a little GIRL POWER in our lives. Support the US Women’s soccer team because supporting their dreams means you are supporting the dreams of girls like mine.
Two winners will receive a $1,000 gift card.

Summer is almost here! It’s time to start thinking of cookouts, bonfires, and time with friends and family. One of my favorite ways to spend time with the ones I love is by sharing a meal with them. During the summer my family and I grill out every Sunday. We spend our Sunday’s outside running around the yard playing games and grilling up some amazing beef and veggies. Continue reading
