A new school year is upon us! My little girl will be starting 1st grade in a few short days, and we were talking about what she wants to accomplish this year. She told me that she didn’t know how she would remember her goal by the end of the year, so we decided to make a Back to School Printable that we could hang in her room and she could remember what her goals were for the year. We actually printed out 2, one for school goals, and the other for dance goals. This year my little girl wants to learn how to write a paragraph, and make it through an entire dance without missing a step! Want to help your child with their goals for the new school year? Looking for an simple inexpensive back to school gifts for preschool teachers this year? Why not give them a gift of magic eraser cleaning sponges. The sponges are an excellent way to clean up stray crayon marks, dry paint that was missed during clean up, or marker ink that isn’t where it is supposed to be. If you order the sponges in bulk from sites like Amazon or spongeoutlet.com then it is really an inexpensive gift that will be VERY much appreciated especially if your little ones are in preschool or early elementary. All you do is tie together a few sponges with some ribbon or colored masking tape and attach a little note such as “Magic erasers for you…because the only marks my child leaves behind should be on your heart.” Easy, simple, inexpensive and you will be the new teacher’s pet.

Now that school is back in session, I have some time to myself during the day to do, well, whatever I want to do. One of my favorite things to do when I have some time alone is crafts! I make things for around my house, DIY organization items, stuff I know my kid will love, and my personal favorite, gifts!
I love making homemade gifts for family and friends for the holidays. By getting a jump start on those gifts, rather than waiting until the last minute and scrambling around to get everything done, I save myself a great deal of stress. So this week while my kids were at school, I decided to try out a new gift idea, a How to Make a Candlestick Picture Frame. It only costs $2 to make and turned out pretty cute if you ask me! Would you like to learn how to make it? Let’s go!Continue reading

It’s finally in theaters ya’ll! The Secret Life of Pets made it’s big screen debut on July 8th! Have your kids been as excited as mine has? In my home we are big pet lovers (we actually have 5 cats AND a dog!) so we knew we would enjoy this movie. So a few days after opening we knew we had to go grab some popcorn and a seat to check it out! Not only did we enjoy the movie, but it looks like some other furry friends did as well when they got to walk the red carpet in a pets-only movie premier! You have got to check out the facebook video, it’s too stinking cute! What I love about this movie is that it’s fun for the whole family to enjoy! Parents will love it just as much as kids! And with its comedy superstar cast it is sure to have everyone in stitches as you watch the easy-to-love (and quite adorable) characters of the movie. It really makes you think, what exactly do our pets do when we aren’t around? My daughter has decided that our cats run our home. Spending their time sleeping and waiting to be fed. While our poor dog just tries to stay out of the cats way, ha! I guess you will have to find out when you and your family head to the movie theater to check out The Secret Life of Pets for yourself!
