Things a Mom Says

Things a Moms Says

Funny things mom say

It wasn’t that long ago that I rolled my eyes at my mother. I rolled my eyes because of the things a mom says to their child. Then one day I awoke and realize those same things were rolling off of my tongue. Do you know what is worse? I am saying even crazier things than my parents said to me. I figured since almost everyone who works on the Madame Deals team is a mom we would write our.. “I can’t believe I really said that list.”

Things a Mom Says:

1) Your brother is not my favorite but right now he could be. (said after finding my lipstick on every doll on her bed)

2) I love you to the moon and back. (Mom, why would you send me to the moon and back?)

3) Stop! Picking your nose if you are that hungry eat what I cooked. (Said after one child refused to eat dinner but instead picked their nose and ate that)

4) No, I am not in the mood to wipe your butt can you ask someone else? (Said after potty training all day and wiping invisible poop for the fourth time)

5) Can you please pick up your toys before they wake up like the ones in Toy Story and leave the house when your sleeping? (The idea came to me after watching Toy Story 2)

6) God gave you two ears and one mouth there was a reason. (Well, Mom that explains why I have two hands. Nope I didn’t get the connection either but decided he didn’t understand why he should listen more and talk less after my lesson on anatomy”

7) You look just like your dad. (Well that is good mom we wouldn’t want anyone to wonder. I think he heard me tell the story about how surprised my husband was that the baby looked like him. I was a bit annoyed since there was a 50% chance the baby would look like him the other 50% the baby would look like me since there wasn’t a third option.)

8) If you do not eat your dinner I will send it to someone in the Soviet Union. (Mom, that places doesn’t exist anymore.)

9) Put on your shoes and stop walking on them. (Mom shoes are made for walking on. I should have said put your feet in them completely and then walk)

10) Sometimes I wonder why you are so noisy (Mom if we weren’t you wouldn’t use the in stereo feature on the tv that booms)

-Amee Madame Deals 1-10 I own my mistakes… and funny moments

11) If you don’t stop I am going to punch you in the head (Said after constant bickering between both children who needed to be shocked into silence. No I didn’t do it nor ever really planned on it.)

12) Can’t I just take a shower alone. (After my daughter and 3 dogs kept coming in)

13) Because I said so and I am the mom. (After trying to explain to my daughter for the 5th time whey she couldn’t do something.)

The loss of a Furry Family Member

This morning started out like any other for us, other than a storm that was brewing, everyone was sleeping peacefully, until my mother-in-law screamed my name. This is not something that anyone likes to wake up too.

Losing a Pet is like losing a Family Member.

This was our Furbaby Adolph (So named because of his certain style of mustache he had when he was little). When I heard that scream this morning, it was because of him. He had collapsed. We rushed him to the nearest Vet Hospital (that happened to be about 30 minuets away) but it was to late, he was gone, and probably was before we even left. He was 8 years old and had a heart mummer since he was little, but it had never bothered him and he was super active and healthy. The doctor told us she wasn’t sure what it was the happened to him, which is hard in itself to deal with.

He was also quite large as you can see. Hard to believe he was the runt of the litter huh? This cat was more then a pet for us, he was a part of our family, which is how I think every pet owner should feel about their pets. He loved everyone, but not as much as he loved his Mommy (My mother-in-law) whenever she was gone he would say “mooooommmm” Literally,  the cat said Mom.

Coming home from the Hospital I peeked in on my little girl (who is 4) and she was already awake, sitting up in her bed. She says to me “Mommy, why was Grandma screaming this morning, and why are you crying?” I’ll be honest, I was not prepared to answer that question, but I believe honesty is the best policy, so I told her the truth, in simple terms. I told her that Adolph had gotten sick, and he was gone. She didn’t understand of course, but I thought it was important that she knew what was going on, and I didn’t lie to her.

Our pets are a very important part of our family, as you can see we had 4, now 3.  Never take anything in life for granted, you never know when I loved one is going to leave you. Adolph will be cremated and brought home sometime next week. He will be forever loved and missed, RIP Dolphy.

How do you deal with a loss of a pet? Do you get your kids involved, or keep them out of it?

I’m still a great mom..even if I have Tattoos

Would you think less of a Mom, if she had visible tattoos?

Inspiration for posts can come from anywhere, funny things that happen, an interesting news story, or in this case, a hateful comment directed at you. I was shopping last night with my 4 year old, (she just had to have a Gameboy, right that second, so, being the awesome mom I am, I drove 30 miles away to a game store, in the rain, at 7 pm) when a women whom I had never seen before came up to me and tapped me on the shoulder. What came next was a shock to me, I turn my head and say Hello and this is what she says to me, “Do you really think a good Mother should have an evil tattoo in plain site for everyone to see?”  I didn’t know what to say to that, no one had ever said anything like that to me before. What would she have thought if she saw the other 4 tattoos I have? Through gritted teeth I told her that I was a great mother, and thanked her for her concern and walked away. Jaiden then turned to me and said this, “Mommy, why did that lady say you were a bad Mom? Did you do something wrong?”  Ouch.

Now does this little girl looks like she is upset that her Mom has tattoos? I don’t think so!

I’ve always been “different” but I never got so much crap for it until I had Jaiden.

I grew up in a very relaxed, alternative household. My mom had tattoos, and a nose ring, my dad wore leather, and has his ears and nose pierced, so I never viewed myself as “different”. Through my teenage years I guess people just assumed I was being just that, a teenager. I’m now 24, and guess what..I still have 6 tattoos, a tongue ring, and sometimes, crazy hair! Does this make me a bad Mom? I don’t think so!

What if I told you every person in this picture (other than my daughter of course) has tattoos?

Would that make you think less of them? Would you think they were setting a bad example for the little girl? This was my little girls 4th birthday, Alice In Wonderland themed. Me and her father stayed up until 3 AM making her cake, and putting together her swing set. That little girl is our world, so to have someone question my parenting skills because of some artwork on my body, really upsets me.

This is the tattoo the woman was reffing to, it wraps around my arm. Is it everyone’s cup of tea? Nope! Do I love it? Yep! Jaiden actually picked out a few of the things on the tattoo, like the pink mushroom and the bread and butterfly.

The tattoos don’t stop with just me either! This is my husbands back piece! Does this make him a bad father? If I told you that he works 10 hours a day to provide for us, but he has tattoos, long hair, and loves metal music, would you think less of him?

Jaiden in her Tool night shirt, she loves it because she knows it’s Daddie’s favorite band <3

So, there it is. I’m a 24 year old Work-at-Home wife and mother, I’m a CMA, and I work really hard, oh and I have tattoos. What are your thoughts about moms with tattoos? Does it bother you? Would you/have you ever felt the need to question someones parenting skills that you have never met before? There is no wrong answer, I just want to know 🙂

At the end of the day, Jaiden got her Gameboy, and probably forgot about the comment that was made to me..but what about next time? Lets learn to accept all people for who they are, and love your neighbor!

-Rachelle

Yahoo Shine Entrepreneur

Dear Friends, Readers, Family, and everyone who supports my vision-

I am happy to announce I was select as Yahoos Women who Shines  Top Entrepreneur. I have to say I am tickled pink. There were several categories and I was nominated for one that best describes my intent as a business professional. You see I know I am three people’s mom and one person’s wife but I also value being my own person. I value having dreams and being defined by my success and tenacity. I never want to be “good enough” so I challenge myself to be the best. I define being the best by helping others to lead, succeed, and achieve their dreams. I built Madame Deals to support my core values of helping people help others. We post deals so you can live better and hopefully take what you are saving and Pay it Forward.

I hope that you find a place where you can see yourself if not in my image but in the image of one of my writers. We hope to connect with you. We want you to have a place to go to figure out the how do you do that? How can I do that? This is a place where we hope to teach you how to be your own cheerleader to understand that marching to the beat of your own drum is okay. Yes, I have a family that loves and supports me but they often do not understand what I am doing. They trust me and help me become more successful. I have always been the type of person to keep my eye on the prize. This year my prize is being able to do two $100 stories. I intend to help as many people as I can to help others.

The difference between success and failure is not trying!

Thank you again for this honor-

Amee AKA Madame Deals, MOM, Honey, and Entrepreneur

When you grew up did you ever think you would be someone’s parent. I did. I guess I never understood how consuming being a parent is. I was a stay at home mom for three weeks before I lost it. I couldn’t handle being 100% focused on someone else. I sat down and came up with a plan. The first goal I had was to find a balance between being a good spouse, parent, and being good to myself. I needed to live my dream. The dream I have is simple do what I love while spending as much time as I can with the people I love.

I am the person that finds 26 hours in every day. I multitask so often that my husband swears I am not human. I get to put on bandaids, clear kisses, rub backs, and tell knock jokes all while saving the world from my computer. Well, maybe not the whole world but I have been able to help people believe in themselves enough to chase their dreams. I have always been the person that connects the dots for others. I taught the child that couldn’t read how to read. The mom who didn’t believe she had anything to offer into someone who has a thriving
