School will be back in session before you know it, so that means it’s back to homework, after school activities, and sometimes a little crazy. I don’t know about you, but sometimes by the time I get home at night I’m not in the mood to make a 4 course meal. Any mama’s out there feel like that? Ha! So on those days I’m thankful that I have a few one pot meals recipes. One of my family’s favorite easy weeknight meals is my One Pot Jambalaya With Turkey Sausage Recipe! It’s spicy, filling, and most importantly, it’s easy! Let’s check out how to make it:
I saw a sale where it was buy one bag and then get one free. They were two pound bags and they were frozen. I paid $12.00 for the two bags. I knew I could get three meals out of the $12.00.
The items in this recipe are stables in my home. I always have garlic, lemon juice, and salt and pepper. The rest of the ingredients are optional. The tilapia fish is a mild fish so it will take on the flavor of what you add to it.
I made this recipe using foil but I could have just put the fish on the steamer basket if I wasn’t cooking the entire two pound bag. I usually do not cook that much but I made dinner for that night and then I want the rest of the fish for taco’s the next day for lunch.
When I looked outside this morning I saw something I haven’t seen in about 2 or 3 months, sunshine! What a beautiful site! The sunshine got me in the mood to make a fun Easter Project to share with all of you! My daughters absolute favorite Easter (or really, any other time of year) candy are Peeps! What’s not to love about a sugar covered marshmallow in cute little shapes right!?
So over the weekend we made these super cute Edible Easter Peeps Houses that would be perfect for a fun and easy Easter Project to make with your kids. My daughter had a great time making (and eating) her Peeps House! Lets check out how to make it:
Here is how to make these DIY Edible Easter Peeps Houses:
You Will Need:
chocolate (or jellybean) eggs
Green food coloring
First, you will grab your gram crackers and break them in half. You will need 6 piece total. Using your frosting construct your house. (1 for the bottom, 2 for the sides, 1 for the back, and 2 for the top).
Next, When your house is complete it will look like the one above. Let dry. before messing with it. (Trust me, if you get impatient and try to add stuff to it before it’s dry it will fall and make you really sad.)
Then, pour some of your shredded coconut into a bowl and put a few drops of green food coloring into the bowl and mix. This will be the grass for your peep to sit on!
Finally, Sprinkle some “grass” on the bottom of your peeps house and decorate with candy eggs, and of course don’t forget to add your Peeps! Don’t they look cute!?
It’s a beautiful day outside down here in the south today! The perfect day to do some crafts with my daughter (which we did!). Can you believe we are only a few weeks away from Easter!? This week we are heading to Orlando for Spring Break, so I wanted to get some Easter Crafts done early so we would have some fun stuff already lined up for when we get back. So I bring you this Easy Easter Bunny Paper Plate Craft that your kids will have a blast making and it uses stuff you probably already have at home! y daughter loved making this, and thought it was cool that she didn’t have to have any help to do this. She could do it all by herself!
Today was the last full week of school for my kids. That means only 3 more days until summer starts. YAY right? The kids are so excited they could burst. But as a mom I know that that excitement will quickly wear away by week two, day 3, 9am. It happens the same time each year without fail. And when it does, the kids will let you know. They will come up to you dragging their feet, and sour faces and exclaim with a sigh, “MOM, I’m SO bored!” and “There’s nothing to do!”. Here we have 2 choices. We can tell them to go watch some TV (and no judgement here, sometimes we all go that route) or we can direct them to an activity. So that’s where the idea for the “I’m Bored” Jar comes in!
