Biscuits and Gravy Casserole Recipe
Now that Halloween is over, my home has switched in to full holiday mode. Yep, I’m one of those people that don’t mind that it’s the fist week of November and they are already playing Christmas music in the store. I love the feel of the holiday season. Cheer and goodwill, everyone seems to be a little nicer and happy. And I know that I will get to see some extended family that I don’t normally get to see during the rest of the year. Which means that I have a lot of cooking to do during the entire season. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day cooking wise, and I always like to make a big holiday breakfast for my family. One of my favorite recipes is my Biscuits and Gravy Casserole Recipe! It feeds a crowed, is easy to make, and tastes great. It’s perfect for your next holiday (or anytime really!) meal. I hope you enjoy it as much as my family does.
Here is how to make my Biscuits and Gravy Casserole Recipe:
You Will Need:
- 1 tube Large Biscuits
- 1/2 Pounds Ground Sausage (I used mild)
- 2 tbsp Flour
- 2 1/2 Cups Milk
- Salt and Pepper (to taste)
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Grease a casserole dish and open your biscuits. Take 1/2 of them and cut them into chunks. Layer them at the bottom of your pan and bake for 10 minutes.
Step 2: While your biscuits are baking, brown some sausage on the stove.
Step 3: After you have browned your sausage sprinkle your flour over your sausage and stir with a wooden spoon until smooth. Let cook on Medium for 3 minutes.
Step 4: Slowly stir in your milk. Kick your heat up to Medium/High and let you gravy comes to a slight boil. Stir until it starts to thicken. Add your salt and pepper to taste.
Step 5: Pour your gravy on top of your baked biscuits, and then top with your remaining biscuits. Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes, or until biscuits are golden. Serve immediately.
