They say “food is love.” That is why I am cheating on my husband. There I said it. It is only when he isn’t home. I know it doesn’t make it right but who can resist when it tastes so good. The savory Carando meatball casserole recipe that is bursting with flavor is everything a cheat day calls for.

This meatball casserole recipe is the one that your family will keep on asking for. It's so delicious and unbelievably super easy to make.

This is the recipe my kids beg for. The one they clean their room for. The recipe that is so easy to create that even my seven-year-old can whip it up. I just pop it in the oven for him.

I know, I know, it isn’t nice to cheat on your husband with food he can’t eat but do not worry we try to down play how great dinner was when we talk to him. We do not tell him about the Carando meatballs that melt in your mouth or the caramelized cheese that bubbles over the bread.

We just sit down and enjoy the fruits of Peter Carando’s whose passionate story begins nearly a century ago along the cobblestone streets of Torino, Italy. Founder Peter Carando learned the Italian tradition of sausage-making as an apprentice at his local butcher shop. You can taste the flavor in every bite. He set sail for America to begin handcrafting the finest Italian meats this country had ever eaten. To this day, Carando has remained faithful to those recipes – and to the old world craftsmanship that has helped Carando earn its place as one the world’s finest purveyors of Italian deli meats. Those recipes make everything I make with their meatballs better from Carando meatball subs, meatballs and pasta, and to my crowd-pleasing room cleaning meatball casserole.

This meatball casserole recipe only has four ingredients and take less than a half of an hour. I love how easy it is, and it makes the best leftovers ever. You know you can cut out a piece and put it in a container before presenting the meal to your family, so you have lunch for the next day. It is perfectly acceptable. You can also freeze it, and it makes a great casserole to share with people who just had a baby, had a tragedy, or need a hot meal bursting with love.

How to Make a Meatball Casserole

This meatball casserole recipe is the one that your family will keep on asking for. It's so delicious and unbelievably super easy to make.

Ingredients:

Carando meatballs (one package for four people) found in fresh meat section at Food Lion
1 1/2 cup of your favorite pasta sauce
One package of 8 biscuits in a can (I like the ones with butter)
2 cup of mozzarella cheese. I have also used the pizza blend.
A casserole dish

Step 1: First preheat your oven to 375, then break out your biscuit dough and cut into 1/8ths. Place in the bottom of a greased baking dish.

Step 2: Pour your pasta sauce over your dough pieces.

Step 3: Place your meatballs on top of your dough and sauce.

Step 4: Sprinkle your cheese on top of the other ingredients and bake at 375 for 30-40 minutes or until bubbly!

Step 5: Cut into squares and serve to your hungry family!

I put some fresh parsley on mine, but this is not required. I just think it looks beautiful.
