Natural and DEET-Free Insect Repellent that Actually Works

Disclosure: Compensation was provided by Guardian via MomTrends. The opinions expressed herein are those of the author and are not indicative of the opinions of Guardian or Momtrends.

It is two am. Who gets up at two am? This girl. Well, let’s be clear this girl and her puppy. You see we have a new member in our family. She is working on the potty training thing. She is also working on staying with the person who has her out on a walk.

She takes off right into the woods.

That means that we are running into the woods right after her. That is why this year it is more important than ever to use an insect repellent I can trust. It has to be a natural and DEET-free mosquito repellent that actually works.

Frommer’s and HomeAway 6 for 60 Veterans Family Vacation Contest

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post on behalf of HomeAway but all opinions expressed here are mine.

It is 5 o’clock. The sun is beginning to set and the day is drawing to a close. She is wondering when he will return home. She searches the vast ocean for a hint of his whereabouts, but the waves show no clue in their relentless crests.

She wonders what he is thinking. She wonders if they will spend their first holiday together. She is hopeful since they have only been married for a few months and moving across the country only to be left lonely wasn’t on her wish list.

She knows it is for the benefit of the country but sometimes she wishes her name was America.

She goes to the mailbox and opens it. She pulls out bills, flyers, newspapers, and out slips a white envelope written in his hand. She smiles. She places it to her nose with hopes that it smells like him. She waits to open it because she isn’t sure if it is filled with good news or bad.

She wants to pretend it is filled with hope, holidays, silly stories, and love.

She opens the white envelop slightly yellowed in transit or by salted air only to skim until she lands on the one word she doesn’t want to see.

Sorry.

He is sorry he will not be home for their first holiday. He will be home before and after but not on. She begins to tear but then, she thinks about all the other sailors who will not make it home at all. She realizes it isn’t the date that matters, everyday is a holiday when you are with the person you love.

She is grateful for each day.

That is why it is my pleasure to share such an incredible opportunity with you.
