Lisa Advocare Challenge Day 24 and Beyond
Well I finished my Advocare 24 day challenge this weekend and I have lost still only 5 pounds. I was not happy about my weight loss not changing since Day 10. I had such bad cravings and still stuck it out and didn’t lose anymore weight. But then I measured myself and I lost a total of 7.5 inches. That is another 4 inches since Day 10.
My clothes are fitting better but I still want to lose at least 10 more pounds. I know that losing inches is important but I know what size I want to be and how I look at a certain weight. I have a closet full of clothes that size and I want to get back into all of my clothes comfortably.
My next step is to use what I have learned about labels when picking prepackaged foods. Instead of just looking at fat and calories I am also going to look at the sugar and sodium amounts. I also will continue to eat leaner meats. We used to eat ground beef a couple times a week in our pasta sauce, tacos, and hamburgers. I will continue to buy ground beef for hamburgers but I will be sure to get the leaner meat. I’m sorry but ground turkey and chicken will never replace a good ground beef hamburger. I will use the leaner meats for all other cooking even the kids had turkey chili last week and didn’t notice a difference. I will continue to eat on a schedule of every two to three hours and drink large amounts of water. I am going to add carbs back. I will be sure to choose those carbs more carefully. I will eat brown rice, whole wheat pasta, sweet potatoes and quinoa. I am also not going to give up my fruit!!
I’m not sure if I feel that the Advocare was worth the money I spent. I lost 20 pounds in the Summer/Fall on my own and feel that I could have lost this last 5 on my own also. I did learn more about different ways I could change my diet to be a healthier eater. It was definitely worth the time I put into the food prep and shopping to learn about healthier food choices.
