Do you love steak? I have great recipes but cooking every day can be tiring so from time to time we take a break and eat out, it’s our way to relax and bond with the family. One of my family’s favorite restaurant is the Outback Steakhouse! Known for their juicy, tender and flavorful steaks, Outback Steakhouse also serves a lot of other great dishes including their famous Bloomin’ Onion. It’s the perfect restaurant for the whole family. So here’s the awesome news, because we’re giving away an Outback Steakhouse Gift Card to one lucky reader.
I love Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches but I don’t love all the carbs that come with the bread. I had seen recipes similar to the one I have created and I thought I would give it a try only instead of baking my Philly Cheesesteak stuffed green peppers in the oven I decided to cook them on the grill.
Get the grill out! This recipe looks really good with fresh vegetables and a grilled steak. This recipe will be a hit all summer as we will soon have zucchini and carrots fresh from our garden. Thanks to Beef It’s Whats for Dinner for this recipe. Check out their site for more Summer of Sizzle recipes and tips on grilling.

It is that morning. The one you dread. The one where you forgot to get out of our pajamas and ended up driving your kids to school because they missed the bus. You hadn’t planned to get out of the car, but your littlest dropped their lunch, and the orange tumbled away almost in slow motion. You jumped out of your minivan. You had to save the orange. What if your child didn’t have their serving of fruit? You try to look dignified after almost face planting in your heroic effort to save the orange from the SUV that was approaching quickly. You wave to the crossing guard that reminded you parents are supposed to stay in their car at all times. You get back into your vehicle because the day has to get better.
You drive home, and it does.
You remember next to you sits your Community® Coffee. You pull into your driveway. You do not get out of the car. You bring the mug to your lips. You let the aromatic scent pass by your nose. You inhale. You exhale. You take a sip as the flavorful brew travels down your throat. You smile. You have returned to yourself again.
You do not have to wonder where your Community® Coffee came from. It has been a family-owned business for four generations. The owner “Cap” named it Community out of appreciation for his community of friends and the customers he served. You think Cap, and I could have been friends. He gets me. He knows it takes a village to not only raise a child but to grow the best coffee beans. You think about the generations of farmers that have taken great care to produce only the best 100% Arabica coffee beans. Community Coffee features roasted and blended beans using recipes perfected over 95 years. You think to yourself even if I had 95 years experience I still couldn’t have caught that orange any sooner.
You hope your children are talking to you after the pajamas, car line, and the rogue orange incident. You decided to make sure they will forget this morning by making a recipe they can’t resist. You are going to make a recipe using the Community Coffee that you love in the morning into a culinary experience this evening, and it is easier than chasing an orange on a mission to embarrass you.

Do you have an item that you never eat at home but always order when dining out if it is available on the menu? Something delicious that you love but just don’t want to put forth the effort to make it at home? Maybe it is something that can only be done right by your favorite restaurant. For me that item is steakhouse potato soup. I absolutely love thick hearty chunky potato soup but I can’t quite seem to make it as good as my favorite restaurants and certainly can’t get it on the table quickly. Until now.
For many families, ground beef is a favorite. It’s quick to prepare, quite versatile, and can be inexpensive. For the most part, ground beef is a kid-friendly meat that can be the center of many classic meals: cheeseburgers, spaghetti & meat sauce, tacos, just to name a few.
Salisbury Steak is an oldie-but-goody, ground beef dish that is making a comeback. This dish was created during the 1930’s when home cooks wanted a new and tasty way to cook ground beef. Steak was too expensive for Depression-era families, so the well-seasoned Salisbury Steak was born. Now, some of you may be thinking of the Salisbury Steak frozen dinners that come in a sectioned, tin tray alongside mashed potatoes, peas, and fried apples. While this “t.v. dinner” used to be my favorite meal when the babysitter came over and my parents went out for the evening, I have a much more wholesome Salisbury Steak recipe to share with you.Continue reading
