I am proud to introduce a new column to Madame Deals! I think we all need a touch point a place we can go to be inspired. Karla is my children’s teacher, a good friend, and a person with a heart of gold. I hope that her words will inspire you to do more. We are only as good as the people we surround ourselves with. It is important to listen with your heart and proceed with your eyes open. Enjoy!
The Importance of a Chosen Family…
This past week my husband and children surprised me with a birthday party. To say that I was surprised would be an understatement. I had absolutely no idea that they were planning to honor me and feel truly blessed by the work it took to pull it all off.
As I stood in the middle of the party crowd with my daughter she noted that those in attendance were a perfect blend of who I am. There were work friends, church friends, my NASCAR friends, family (my husband and children) and those whom I choose to call family. Actually, everyone there is part of my chosen family which in no way means that my biological family means less, it just means that I believe that family can be defined in various ways.Continue reading
Before I get into the subject of headaches, I want to thank Madame Deals for having me as her featured health writer for one year this month! I can hardly believe it has been that long already! You dear readers have been with me through the death of several ones dear to my heart and blessed me with your comments and readership! I am beginning another journey in a few short days. You may remember my post on zero deductible healthcare where I described my experience as a missionary nurse. Well, my husband (a physician assistant), my youngest daughter (almost 13 years old) and I will be leaving Monday to work in a small rural village in West Africa for 6 months. I will try to write articles as often as I can, but the internet connection is very unreliable in that part of the world. Those of you who are praying people, we sure would appreciate your prayers! If you would like to follow our journey, you can follow our blog at www.jablonskimissions.webs.comContinue reading

For our Pay It Forward Friday this week, Madame Deals’ wants to do something to help find missing persons. We want to extend a hand by providing exposure to help people find their loved ones.
In case you’ve seen one of these persons please contact their family and friends immediately.
On the other hand, if you know anyone who’s missing please leave a comment below this post by providing some info.
Fall is upon us and there are sports, school, and a variety of other activities that can absorb your time. Don’t forget to take advantage of beautiful weather and memory making traditions during this season! Whether your children enjoy scary escapades, or more traditional hayrides and pumpkin picking-be sure to take the time to do one of these things. My kids absolutely love picking out pumpkins and even though they can be pricey to buy, we let each member of the family pick their own. Then each person chooses how to decorate it or carve it. This year my boys have chosen to paint their pumpkins and my husband and I will carve ours. As you can see below, the boys did an awesome job with their art. I’ll be sure to post our jack-o-lanterns on my facebook page when they are done this weekend!
