Fashion Friday: Iman Adorned Review

I am Madame Deals. I know that may not mean much to you but that means I like a good deal. I love fashion and make up and anything that glitters. I hate paying a lot of money and I do not have time for anything complicated. I was lucky enough to work with IMAN cosmetics and they generously fed my make up addiction with amazing products. They were easy to apply. I loved the Adorned make up kit. The best part about IMAN is it is made for women of all skin types. The picture above was take after I used the kit at 11:00 pm at night after being a working stay at home mom. I think I look great and I have the IMAN line to thank for that. The video features these stellar products.

Here is my five minute face:

You know me I like a good party and I would like to invite you to one on September 12, 2012 at 8:00 pm on Twitter. You can follow me at @madamedeals. I will have plenty of beauty tips to share and tons of awesome make up to adorn you with.

IMAN Adorned kit- It had everything I need to touch up my make up I love how portable it is.

IMAN Luxury Translucent powder in the Sand Light Medium- This went on like a dream. It covered my red nose and feels like silk.

IMAN- Time Control I love this Moisture Complex It went on well and kept my skin looking hydrated all day. I felt like I was 16 again.

IMAN-Perfect Lip Pencil in the Tan this was versatile enough to use for my eyes and my lips. It didn’t grab at my skin and stayed on for hours.

Chutzpah: Acceptance

ChutzpaChutzpah. This is a word that is used often by myself because sometimes I just can’t believe what people do. I mean really! I thought it would be fun to share our Chutzpah moments. The only rules are no names of stores, people, or events. You may also not use inappropriate language. Leave a comment listing your favorite Chutzpah moment! I mean laughter is the best medicine.

chutzpah Or khutspe. Nerve, extreme arrogance, brazen presumption. In English, chutzpah often connotes courage or confidence, but among Yiddish speakers, it is not a compliment.

Okay Ladies, Where is the girl power? What if perception isn’t reality. I have spent hours trying to get the cellulite off my leg. I have tried the creams and I have tried exercise. I have also drank enough water to fill a small pool.  I was rubbing my leg and my husband said why are you trying to get rid of your dimples I love them. It made me think that what people perceive as faults can actually be your assets. Who would have thought something I hate my husband finds “damn sexy.” I am just reminding you that you are more than your parts it is you that makes you whole. I say embrace “being damn sexy” and own who you are!

Karla’s Korner: Let Them Be Little

I am proud to introduce a new column to Madame Deals! I think we all need a touch point a place we can go to be inspired. Karla is my children’s teacher, a good friend, and a person with a heart of gold. I hope that her words will inspire you to do more. We are only as good as the people we surround ourselves with. It is important to listen with your heart and proceed with your eyes open. Enjoy!

Let them be little.

Quite often I listen to online radio while I am writing. I enjoy the music and find that it motivates me. The other day an old country song came on that caused me to stop what I was doing and listen. I had heard this song many times and for some reason it “hit” me pretty hard that day. The song “Let them be little” by Billy Dean starts off with the lines “I can remember when you fit in the palm of my hand; felt so good in it, no bigger than a minute.” Staring at a picture of my own two children who at 19 and 13 are both taller than me, I thought back to the days when I cradled them in my arms and how they would fall asleep on my chest. In a matter of what seemed like minutes they were wiggling out of my arms running off to play and then the school bus came and off they went turning into big kids. Now today, both of my kids are living their lives much differently than I lived mine and I am learning to understand that that is the way it is supposed to be. With my daughter in her second year of college, and my son in high school I find myself looking back and wondering why I did the things I did and what could I have done better. Naturally, hindsight is clearer than when we are in the moment. Knowing that I have not been the perfect parent, and have been reminded of that many times over, I can only hope that the parent I was to them when they were little is somewhat good enough to carry them through this critical time of their lives and into their future.Continue reading

Blogger Rates

 Blogger Rates

To search for all of our  Ask A Blogger articles .

Here is the truth I get paid to blog. I have to get paid because having a site is expensive. I have blogger rates. It takes a ton of time. I estimate this site takes about 150 + man hours a week. Yes, I have a staff. I have to pay them. How do I do it? I charge money. I can’t pay them and my bills with face cream, coupons for a free frozen meals, toys for my children, mouthwash, and more.

How do you get paid. The first way to get paid is figure out what to charge. Then you need to actually prepare a media kit. I had mine done by Dawn you can find her at [email protected] You can check it out  of media kit  Madame-Deals-Media-Kit-2.

This is how you get paid. You get paid by selling your sidebars to sponsors. This is the equation I use for Blogger Rates. I take my top producing 320×250 ad and that is the rate someone receives if they want 320×250 worth of space on my site.  If they want a button size ad 125×125  on my site I charge them 1/4 of the 320×250 ad size. If they want a banner I charge the same rate as a 320×250. I sometimes give discounts if they pay for multiple months. I also tell people if they pay each month on time I will not change their rate as my site grows. You can charge more for above the fold (the fold is what you see before you scroll down). I offer several other options. I charge less if they pay in advance and buy 6 months or more in ad space. I also complete the deal by offering a post or shout out on social media for the customers that advertise on my site. You should NEVER change your price just add more value to your offer. If you change your prices then you lose credibility. I only change my price and give discounts for prepaying and for multiple month purchases. I only do this because it saves me time.Continue reading
