I have the same problems you all do.. I have two kids, three jobs, bills, and the desire to save the most money with the least amount of work. I have stopped buying multiple papers and instead I started ordering my coupons. Why? Well cost effectiveness.
1) I only get the coupons I need
2) They are already cut out
3) They are sorted and ready to put in my Madame Deals Coupon Solution
4) A paper cost $2.00 and I am never really sure I will get the most value for my money
Here is what I did this week:
I went to My Coupon Hunter
1) I clicked on the icon on our sidebar
2) I searched the coupons
3) I selected what I KNOW my family will eat. I bought multiple coupons to stockpile these items.
3) Then I order.
4) I order on Sunday night and I get my coupons by Thursday.
You know why this site is great? A lot of the coupons I found on there were not in any of my local papers and they were high value!
Example of why this is a great idea because you save TIME and MONEY!
This is what I saved on the ordering of just the bacon coupons and the yogurt coupons:
The bacon is $.75 off I ordered 10 coupons at $.20= $2.00 total cost amount saved $1.50 off each package of bacon because the $.75 doubles at Giant. Amount saved $15.00- $2.00 cost of the coupons= $13.00 net saved. What I will end up spending after the coupons are redeemed per package is $.40 (I believe the price per package is $1.89 it may be less) so about $4.00 total for 10 packages plus the $2.00 cost of having the coupons clipped and shipped to me= $6.00 total spent. $.60 per package for less than 1/3 of the retail cost!!!!!
Chobani Yogurt retail price is $1.19 at Kroger (usually goes on sale for $1.00 each but for my example we will use the retail price)
I bought 6 Chobani coupons that have a $1.00 valued each they cost $.12 each for a total cost of $.72. The amount saved $6.00-$.72= $5.28
**** But wait I found another coupon for $.20 each that if you buy 2 yogurts you get the third free!! I bought 3 coupons $.60
That means I will get 9 yogurts for ($1.19 retail cost- $1.00 off coupon) Amount paid $.19 x6=$1.14 plus the coupon costs of $1.32= $2.46 That means I get 7 yogurts for FREE or $.27 for each yogurt instead of $1.19 each which is the retail price
If it is on sale for $1.00, which I will wait for this sale since it has been happening over the last couple of weeks, then I will get all 9 yogurts for FREE and I will have to only pay for the cost of the cutting and shipping me the coupons, $1.32. Final cost of just $.15 each with a savings of $1.04 on each yogurt.
$10.71 retail in yogurt
$18.90 retail in bacon
Total spent on 10 packages of bacon 9 yogurts and coupons sent =$8.46
