Whirley Pop Stovetop Popcorn Popper

Quickly I discovered the Whirley Pop Stovetop Popcorn Popper and how highly it was rated.  I liked the way it was made and that it was a US based business that made them.  I purchased the set which included a few mixes of popcorn kernels and seasoning.  Our favorite, naturally, was the Movie Theater packet.  We tried all three varieties then decided we had to do some experimenting.  We tried various oils and seasonings but we finally found one that we all love consistently.

Here’s how we make our movie night popcorn in our Whirley Pop:

Ingredients:

1/2 c. popping corn

2 TB peanut oil

1 TB salt

Directions:

Making sure the lid is firmly snapped into place in all areas, lift the hinged portion and add in your oil, salt and popping corn.  Turn on your burner on a medium high heat.  Close the lid and begin  turning the handle slowly until you hear vigorous popping and the wand becomes difficult to turn.  It honestly doesn’t take long to make the popcorn and is about the same amount of time as microwavable popcorn would take!  Remove from heat and pour into large bowl, adding butter, seasonings or more salt.  YUM-O!  It’s the closest thing we’ve found to real movie theater popcorn yet!

The cleanup of the Whirley Pop is super easy.  Just remove the lid, rinse out the pot and wash everything in hot, soapy water.  I must caution you though, do not put this in the dishwasher.  The instructions clearly stated this, but I am a bit stubborn.  Now my Whirley Pop is discolored, but thankfully still works like new.  My family couldn’t be happier with this purchase!  We use our Whirley Pop at least once per week and I’ve had it for several months, going strong.  It’s made well and built to last (thanks to good ‘ol American manufacturing!).

Pick up the Whirley Pop Stovetop Popcorn Popper today and have some delicious popcorn for your next snack or movie night!
