Cheesy Potatoes and Sausage Recipe
Dinner Worthy Cheesy Potatoes with Meat
- 8 cups idaho potatoes, peeled, boiled and cut into cubes when cool
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 tablespoons flour
- 4 cups milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 lb Velveeta cheese, diced
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 packs or 2 lbs of beef bratwurst (other options: chopped ham, skinless sausage, cheesy bratwurst)
Peel, boil and cube potatoes.
While potatoes are cooking, cut bratwurst into small pieces and brown in frying pan.
Combine butter,flour, milk, salt, pepper, and Velvetta in sauce pan. Heat on medium until cheese is melted, whisking frequently to avoid burning.
Combine potatoes, bratwurst and cheese sauce together and put in 9×13 pan.
Top with shredded cheese and bake on 350* for 45 minutes.
Remove and serve.
