Wedding Wednesday: Be Your Own Wedding Planner and Save Money

Contrary to what others think hiring a professional wedding planner is not a must!  Think about this before the bride and her mother, siblings or some friends and relatives all help together to plan for a wedding. Yes, a wedding planner can be a great help, but if you’re on a budget or you want to save some money that you can spend for honeymoon or for starting your family then why not be your own wedding planner.

Here are some benefits of planning your own wedding:

1. Outside influence can quickly drive the price of a wedding up. Some wedding planner’s suggestions can begin to cost the couple more money than they planned on spending. A wedding planner may really be sincere and want the day to be a beautiful for you but at the expense of your budget. By planning your own wedding, you won’t be constantly presented with new ways to bust your budget unless you find them all on your own!

2. Of course the Budget! Wedding planner fees vary greatly depending on their experience and what level of involvement they have in your wedding. Location can also have an effect on the cost of your wedding planner. Nonetheless, in terms of payout, you won’t have this expense if you do it yourself.

Here are some tips that you should remember:

Friends and relatives are important! –Your friends and relatives are just as excited as you about your wedding. Most of them would be more than happy to help you out so I suggest that you use them. Ask them to help you in searching for reception locations, flower deals, shop for the perfect dress, deals and more. Also, make sure to ask recently-wedded friends about their own experiences. And make sure to assign the right jobs to the right people. Maybe you have a friend who does cakes or a relative who’s a great singer, you can ask them for help.

Scout for Deals – Find your own deals in-store and online. Make a resolve right now to never accept full price. Wheel and deal yourself into a better-priced wedding. Sellers are looking for any business and are more willing to negotiate.

Thousands of brides and grooms plan beautiful weddings without the help of a planner and you can too!
