Valentine's day gift idea for Fashion Friday

I love Fashion but I hate paying tons of money to look great. I believe you need two things the knowledge of what looks good on you and the skill to find it for less. I encourage you to get rid of all the items in your closet that you do not wear. They cloud up your options to make really great outfits because you can’t see your clothes! If they are in good condition sell the at a consignment store or a place like Plato’s closet, or host a clothing swap. Clothing swaps are a blast!

I had a great column idea and I was all set to do a video post so I could  share it with you but Margeaux ruined it. I mean, she gave me a fat lip and swollen nose which hasn’t gone down yet. I will share my brilliant fashion finds this weekend when it doesn’t look like I was in a boxing match. Yes, it was an accident but boy do I look funny!

I decided to focus on accessories. I have had a lot of my guy friends ask me what  they should buy their wives or love interest. The answer is simple, studs. They are classic and chic. If you have pierced ears they are a wonderful gift. They never go out of style.

I know most of us do not have a diamond budget. I bought these great studs on HSN for $29.95. They are set in sterling silver. I have had mine for years because I couldn’t afford the real thing. I now have the real thing but I often wear my fake ones because I am afraid of losing my real ones. I also bought the fake ones in a larger size than my real ones. They are 2 carats in each ear for fun. Since I know my husband will never buy me earrings that cost as much as a car, about $20,000.

The other option is pearl studs. The culture pearl if more expensive than the fresh water pearl. You can find pearls in a variety of colors and sizes. They are classic and they make every outfit look more elegant. I often wear a white t-shirt and jeans paired with pearls for simple elegance. They are very cheap on eBay in case you are missing a pair in your jewelery box.

I do the same thing too. I wear the fake studs more than the real ones because I’m afraid of loosing it especially when I travel.
