Tuesday Tip: My Cell Phone is WET HELP

So, I had my cell phone in my back pocket so my daughter couldn’t find it and I forgot. I went to the ladies room and splash!!! My life is over everyone’s number is in there. I am not even sure I know my husband desk phone number without it. I resisted the urge to turn it on. I remember reading put it in a bag of rice for 3 days and seal the bag. I did so and it worked. I thought I would pass on this info.

Step 1: Do NOT turn it on

Step 2: Place it in a bag of rice

Step 3: Leave it in there for 3 days

Step 4: Gather all the numbers you can find and write them down just in case this doesn’t work out for you!

On the 4th of July, my son went with friends to our community celebration. There were inflatables for the kids to play on & it had rained earlier in the day. There were also tents setup with local restaurants selling food. When he went down the slide, he got soaking wet & his cell phone in his pocket got really wet. He had heard about the rice thing so he went to the mexican booth & bought a plate of rice. He put his phone underneath the rice on the plate & went to find our friends that he had gone with. He wanted to make sure he was doing it right. Needless to say we all got a good laugh out of that. We did put his phone in a bag of rice, but he had tried to turn it on & it never worked again. We still laugh about that. He is using one of our really old phones now because his was brand new & we’ve told him he has to wait 2 years to get another one.
