Trader Joe’s Trip

Trader Joe's  Trader Joe’s

I have a weird grocery shopping routine. You see I switch store each week. This week I decided that all the stores in my area really didn’t have great deals on the things we need. I go to kroger/ harris teeter using coupons, Sam’s club which by the way is only $5.16 today for a membership <—- HUGE DEALS. Then I go to Trader Joe’s. I make an emergency run to Food lion since it is near us. I have a $125 a week budget for 5 people. We eat a lot of fruit and veggies so I alternate between Sam’s club and Trader Joe’s for those. I buy my meat at the grocery store and Sam’s club. I use coupons but only when they offer a deal on something we already buy.  I am a huge fan of Trader’s Joe’s frozen food the veggies are really cheap and the Milk is only $1.89 for a GALLON!!! I love their selection of interesting easy to prepare food. I supplement all that with the items I buy at Sam’s club. They have cheaper bread and large quantities of fruits and veggies.

The number #1 reason to have a Sam’s Club card is their electronic and the cheap warranties that you can buy with them. That is why the deal today for only $5 is awesome BUY it now .

  Trader Joe’s

Well back to Trader Joe’s which is the point of the post since some of you ask what I buy and how I spend only $125 a week and eat healthy. I decided I would tell you what we are eating for the week. Then you can see if you develop a pattern of knowing what your family eats and buying it at the best possible price you can also live on less.

I wish we had Trader Joe’s here where I live!! When I’m in Arizona it’s the only place I grocery shop! I think it’s amazing how you feed a family of 5 with your budget, good for you

It is only me in the household so I don’t sweat it too much. We don’t have a Trader Joes anywhere in my area so I have no clue what kind of store that is. I just go to Kroger every week and get what I need. I do not like to go to a bunch of stores. I go to one store and get it done.

I have not heard of Trader Joe’s before now. Sounds like a great market, hopefully they will open one here in the OKC market soon.

i have never been to a ‘trader joes’ but i had always assumed that they were really expensive and there fore i would not shop at one. i am surprised by how low some of the prices you mentioned are. i may have to check them out if i can find one near me.

I’ve heard of Trader Joe’s but have never been there. We usually go to Aldi, Sam’s Club, and dollar stores.

We love Trader Joe’s and it is always so much fun when we are able to go. Sadly the closest one is an hour from here! Great review…I am sure they would be happy! :)

That’s awesome! I always thought Trader Joe’s was really expensive but I’ll have to keep an eye out for your suggestions.

I love TJ’s but sadly there is not one close to me for regular shopping so when we go strategy seems to fly out the window. Everyone goes to his/her fave section and goes crazy.

I LOVE Trader Joe’s!!! They have such great stuff. We usually get the more “regular” stuff at the grocery store, things like bread, butter, etc. And we go to Trader Joe’s for more specialty things, since they have more unique items. They used to have these sourdough bagels that were AMAZING!!! I’m not sure why they stopped making them, since they were always running out they were so popular, but my fingers are stil crossed that they bring them back sometime! :-)

I wish there were more markets like Trader Joes close to us. It is a great place to shop as you know!

I just heard we are finally having a Trader Joes built here!! We are thrilled and I can’t wait to shop there.
If it’s anything like the one I’ve shopped at in Tucson I’ll be doing alot of shopping there
