Swiffer SweeperVac Review

With two young boys, my house is constantly a mess. From dropped food to tracked in dirt, there is always something to cleanup. I had the opportunity to review the Swiffer SweeperVac recently. I was a little skeptical at first. How well could it really work?

The first day I had the SweeperVac, my little guy spilled cereal all over the floor. This was my chance to see if the SweeperVac could handle picking up large pieces. My three year old wanted to do the cleanup so I let him give it a whirl (I am never one to discourage cleaning help!). The SweeperVac is very light weight. The swivel head makes it easy for even a three year old to maneuver. It also did a great job picking up the cereal (to my surprise!).

The SweeperVac also uses the Swiffer Dry Sweeping Cloth. The cloth picks up things like hair and dirt really well. The Sweeping Cloths can be pricey. As an alternative, we will use a reusable cloth.

There are several rebates and coupons available for Swiffer currently. There is a full money back guarantee on all Swiffer starter kits currently. If you are not satisfied, send in to get your money back. Purchase $20 in Swiffer Refills from 4/1 until 6/30/10 and get a $10 Rewards Card. Plus, there are several printable coupons available.

My only problem with the Swiffer SweeperVac is that we need two! One for the 3 year old and one for the little guy. After a week of using it, they still think it is fun! It is also very handy to cleanup messes quickly.

My cleaning tip is to use newspaper when washing windows. It sounds strange, but it really works! I love sparkling windows. Thanks!

My favorite cleaning tip is to get everyone to help out. I feel resentful if I’m cleaning the house and I notice four kids and a husband watching tv.

  10. Amanda Y. says

We use a swiffer but with a microfiber cloth on the bottom–works wonders dry & as a wet mop and then you can toss it in the washing machine!

  11. Karla says

love the swiffer sweeper idea…I am sure I could find many places to use it in my house now that my dog has started to shed…

  12. Kathryn says

My favorite tip is to teach your kids to help you clean when they’re young and actually enjoy helping out.

  13. Jennifer I. says

My favorite cleaning tool is probably a kitchen dish scrubber that I use for cleaning my bathtubs. We have the worst time with hard water stains and this gives me the scrubbing power I need and adds to my elbow grease.

  14. Kara says

I love my regular swiffer and would love to try the swiffer vac. With a toddler and two dogs in the country, my floors need all the help they can get!

  15. Wendi P says

My fave cleaning tip is also a frugal tip; the next time you run out of Windex, fill the bottle with water and a small amount of ammonia and then you will never have to purchase Windex again. Now if I could only find something cheap to keep my stainless appliances smudge-free I would be a happy.

  16. Caroline says

I like the Swiffer duster with the extendable arm to do ceiling fans. Wish I could get someone else to do them for me though!

  17. Lori S says

I love my swiffer wetjet and lysol wipes. I can not live without my wipes. I use them on everything. I no longer have to use them on the floor since the wetjet does the job for me.

  18. Stephanie says

My favorite cleaning tip is to use the internet to find out the proper way to clean our clothes so that I use the right temp water and the right cleaners to get out tough stains.

  19. says

My favorite cleaning agent used to be Spray and Wash Dual Power, but they have now discontinued it. It could take out anything, even old stains. I’m now using Grease Lightning.

My favorite cleaning tool is the swiffer wet jet, but we bought reusable pads (designed for the shark steam mop) to save some money

  21. Christie says

My biggest tip is to not let the mess get out of hand–just clean a little each day and it’s never that bad!

  22. Chhaya says

I dont have wooden floors in my house, but I do have tiles in the kitchen and in the foyer…I find it very useful to sweep everything up using an old fashioned soft bristled broom !

  23. Mari says

My favorite cleaning tip is to use vinegar if you have allergies to the harsh chemicals in conventional cleaners.

  24. Claire says

I find plain old soap and water works well on many things. And its not toxic or anything to your health, either!

  25. says

I like to play my 20 pick-up game. I carry a trashbag from room to room and throw away 20 things. Its a great way to clear clutter!

  26. Erin J says

I LOVE my Swiffer Wet Jet. Its so great for cleaning up messes in a snap and I love how good the febreez scent makes the house smell. My kids love using it as well but they like to just hit the button and make it “pee” in the floor. Thank goodness the pads are super absorbent! Love love love the antibacterial floor solution 🙂

  27. Stephanie says

I like to take paper towels, dip them in bleach water and put them along grout lines in the shower that have mildew stains

  28. Erma K says

I just found your site today and have subscribed to your feed via Yahoo.
I sure would like to win the $40 from Walmart.

My favorite cleaning tool is a Swiffer duster. I HATE to dust and this actually makes it much less painful.

  31. Adrienne says

My favorite cleaning tool is the swiffer duster… that thing is SO easy to use and I never need to spray anything to pick up the dust.

  32. Christina says

My favorite is the original swiffer sweeper. You can put on a dry dust cloth to sweep the floors or put on a swiffer wet cloth to mop. I love that it is lightweight, interchangeable, and mess free.

  33. Melissa Meinhold says

My fave cleaning tool as a mom/nanny is the Scrubbing Bubbles Toliet Bowl Wand! It makes keeping the toliet clean easy and mess free. You can throw out those ugly toliet bowl brushes as the wand comes with a small attachable hook that you can put on the backside of your toliet. The refill scrubbers are now flushable and easy to store under the bathroom sink! I picked up on this cleaning tool form the family I care for and have one in each of my bathrooms! Bathroom cleaning made easy!

  34. Jennifer L says

You know, I love Murphys oil soap and good old rag and hands and knees to clean under the table and in the kitchen. I do the mop deal but really, old fashioned scrubbing works best for me 🙂

  35. Amy says

My cleaning tip is to get the family involved. My 2 year old loves to help dust the baseboards while I swiffer the floor!

  36. says

I love the swiffer I have, but I also love the good old-fashioned mop and bucket to scrub tiled floors with and a broom to sweep up on my wooden floors.

  37. Chrissy says

My favorite cleaning tool is Lysol wipes. Lysol wipes make it so easy for me to spiff up the bathrooms in just a few minutes.

My cleaning tip is don’t let messes pile up because then you’ll never want to clean it all up.

  44. susan margaret says

I always clean my house room by room and top to bottom so that if things near the top of the room (ie dust etc) fall down, they will get cleaned up when I clean the floor!

  45. Deanna G. says

My favorite cleaning tool is my dusting wand! It’s super long so I can dust really high areas & it’s perfect for getting rid of spider webs.

  46. Darrell says

My tip is to let the kids help even if they make a mess. I can’t do it all the time but it’s so worth it for my little four year old to be comfortable washing a dish or cleaning up a spill by himself.

  47. susan margaret says

use vinegar to clean your windows and newspaper to wipe them down – the shine is amazing!

I love your website. Such very valuable information is found here with lots of great tips. My favorite cleaning trick is using baking soda and lemon juice to clean my sinks and other appliances. This makes them smell good and shine and doesnt use any harmful chemicals! I hope this works for others. I am a big fan on facebook and by email.
