Nancy T’s Review of sneakpeeq.com:
Upon my first visit to sneakpeeq.com I am automatically prompted to sign up for an account via Facebook log on. I can only see this being a problem for those who do not have a Facebook account or wish to look around before signing up for an account without giving their information out. I do have many friends who love deal sights but do not have facebook accounts. I think they may be cutting out a large group of people by not offering an alternative to signing up without a facebook account.
There are three different sections titled Living, Style and Taste. Living is all about home décor and items for everyday functionality. The style section is great for jewelry and clothing. And Taste of course is dedicated to gourmet foods and chocolates. My favorite!! I like that when you sign up you are given a generous amount of peeqs, 20. This should be enough to look at quite a few items in each section. They offer you a picture and name of the item with great detail in the description so you can decide if this is something you would consider purchasing before seeing your sneak price. They also show you the original retail value. There are exclusive items too reserved specifically for those who are fans of that particular business on Facebook. This is a neat function for those who have small businesses that may want to gain exposure through a deal site.
Once you add it to your cart it takes you directly to the purchase page and gives you 10 minutes to complete your purchase before its offered back to the masses. Some things I’m not too keen on are you cannot add multiple items to your cart. It appears each item must be bought and shipped separately meaning each time you buy something you’ll be charged $5.95 for each item. The only time this does not apply is when you earn a free shipping badge. After my first purchase, it earned me a free shipping badge for 24 hours. Also, if you have earned a free credit, and the item you have purchased does not equal the total of the free credit, the balance will not be applied to shipping. Also, when it came to using my $25.00 free credit, the item I purchased only totaled $22.00. The remaining $3 does not stay in your account for later use. It’s a use it all at once or lose it type deal. This may turn some people off.
I really appreciate the fact that if you change your mind, you can return most products (with the exception of intimate and swimwear, food items and cosmetics) within 21 days for an account credit. If any item is damaged upon receipt you can return it within 21 days for a credit. They will send you a prepaid label and the return shipping does not appear from their FAQ to come out of your original purchase price. That is a great thing for any internet site to offer. It is hard when you are shopping from pictures to see the item how it will appear in person and in your home until it gets there. It gives the buyer piece of mind knowing they aren’t going to be spending a lot of money on shipping.
I absolutely LOVE that each sale has a leader board, the more you like, love, share and buy, the more points you earn within that particular sale. At the end of that sale, the top three point holders get an extra item for free! Wow!! What a great way to encourage activity on the site. I also completely love the fact that you have numerous ways to earn badges that get you free shipping, free credits etc. The badges are very cute and actually functional. Most sites, badges are cute but they really don’t mean anything so they don’t really encourage you to do too much beyond being an average normal customer. Sneakpeeq.com’s badges encourage you to be an active participant to earn more rewards. I love that!!
Thank you for the opportunity to review Sneakpeeq.com!
Bridget’s Review of Sneakpeeq:
I was given the opportunity to sign up for and review Sneakpeeq, a new site with merchandise at up to 70% off retail prices.
The sign up process was very simple – you sign up with your Facebook account. Once you are signed up, you earn Peeqs, which allow you to see the prices of items you are interested in. The site was very user friendly and pretty straight forward. To see some of the items, you have to “like” the Facebook page of the store.
There are a variety of items to look at, ranging from jewelry, household accents to chocolate with stores and items changing daily. It appears that each “sale” store is on the Sneak Peeq site for 3 days.
You earn points for ordering; loving and sharing items and the top 3 point earners win a surprise gift and also free Sneakpeeq credits.
The ordering process was very simple as well. Just a few screens and your order is placed. You do have 10 minutes to confirm your order or your item will go back up for sale.
Pros of this site –
Ease of sign up, navigating the site and ordering.
You have to sign up with your Facebook account and it auto posts to your FB page. I do not connect sites like this with my FB page normally. You cannot combine credits on this site (if you have 10 credits and 25 credits, the site will automatically use the 25 credit). This site is not part of a cash back program like EBates or Shopathome.
This site is fun and very easy to use. They send you emails everyday with the new items, as well as offers for free shipping, 10% off, etc. to make the user “feel the urgency” in buying something.
I do not think this is a site I would frequent as while the prices are decent, they are not what I would consider rock bottom prices. I can find similar items cheaper by coupon shopping.
