BISSELL CleanView Plus Vacuum with OnePass Technology

When we bought our house, it was about 4 or 5 years old, and it looked like a model home. It was spotless! Now, two years later it’s, well, NOT spotless. We are an active family of four, and we don’t have a whole lot of time to spend cleaning. My daughters (ages 4 and 7) and their friends love to play outside and are constantly tracking grass, leaves, and dirt across the house. They love to snack in front of the TV. And the hair…don’t even get me started on the hair! Let’s just say that 3 girls with long hair means lots of hair everywhere!

Now, I’ve always been a firm believer in the “Good Moms Have Sticky Floors” philosophy. I don’t need my house to be spotless – most days, I just do the best I can to clear away the clutter. But there’s just something about freshly vacuumed carpet that makes a room look ten times cleaner, even if the carpet is the only clean part in the whole room.

Over the years, I’ve owned a variety of different vacuums, from the stick vacuum that I rescued from someone’s trash pile in my college dorm to the hand-me-down upright vacuum that weighed almost as much as I did. A few years ago, my husband did quite a bit of research and purchased a lightweight, budget-friendly vacuum. We have been extremely pleased with it – so when I was given the opportunity to review the BISSELL CleanView Plus vacuum, my expectations were high.

My Experience with the BISSELL CleanView Plus

The vacuum did require a little bit of assembly, but it was very simple and only took me me about 10 minutes to get it out of the box and fully assembled. I had to use a Phillips screwdriver to attach the handle (screws were included in the box), but the rest of the parts just snapped right into place. The instructions were very clear and included helpful photos as well as written directions.

For the purpose of this review, I primarily used it to clean our loft, a room where my children like to play and watch television. There were Cheerios, spangles, and little bits of string and paper scattered on the carpet, and the BISSELL CleanView Plus sucked it all up with ease.

This vacuum was larger and a bit heavier than I expected, but I was able to vacuum my carpet using a fairly light touch. In fact, at times it almost felt like it was self-propelled – that’s how easily it moved across the carpet. True to its name, it cleaned my carpet thoroughly with “one pass.”

Next, I tried the attachments. The extension wand and crevice tool made it easy to get to hard-to-reach places. You can see me here using it to clean under a shelf in my bathroom.

Speaking of bathrooms, the vacuum has five height settings available for various floor surfaces, ranging from high pile or shag carpet (5) to bare floors (1).

Next, I tried the dusting tool. Dusting is my least favorite household chore, and I’m all for anything that can make it simpler! This tool worked great to dust my desk, entertainment center, and bookcases. And with the extension tool, I was able to reach some of the higher levels without using a stepstool. One word of caution – the suction is very powerful and the hole on the dusting tool is large, so be careful not to leave any small pieces laying around that you don’t want to get sucked up!

My staircase is one of the most highly trafficked parts of the house – and is also one of the dirtiest! I was excited to try out the TurboBrush tool, which is recommended for “small flat areas such as stairs and cushions.” I attached the tool to the suction hose, and it felt nice and stretchy. However, when I turned the vacuum on, the powerful suction made the hose very stiff and difficult to maneuver. I couldn’t stretch the hose to reach the steps and had to move the vacuum along with me to each step. The vacuum was too large and heavy to stand alone on an individual stair, so I had to hold the vacuum with one hand and use the TurboBrush tool with the other. It was tricky and a little tiring.

This vacuum sucked up a ton of dirt! The dirt tank came off easily with the push of a button, and I emptied it over my trash can with the push of another button. When the tank was clean, I snapped it right back into place.

Final Thoughts on the BISSELL CleanView Plus Vacuum with OnePass Technology

This vacuum does what it says – gives your carpet and floors a good, thorough cleaning with just “one pass.” It sucks up tons of dirt, dust, hair, and other debris from a busy, happy home. You’ll be amazed at what collects in the dirt tank from just one room! I’m not a big fan of the TurboBrush tool and probably won’t use this vacuum on my stairs – but the other attachments are easy to use and are able to get into all the places that other vacuums wouldn’t. I found this vacuum a little too large and heavy to be considered a “lightweight” vacuum – but despite its size, it propels with only a light touch. It was easy to use and made my carpet look amazing. With the BISSELL CleanView Plus, you get an excellent vacuum at a great value, with all the bells and whistles of a much more expensive vacuum.
