pay it forward

Do you know someone who deserve a cookie?

It started with our Pay It Forward mission where we offered an opportunity to nominate someone for a note and one of the best cookies I have ever eaten, Cheryl’s cookies. Some may think that one cookie isn’t much, but what if the one cookie sent from you just makes that person’s day? How about if it makes their week? How about if it causes them to do something nice for someone else? You could create a whole chain of kindness? Then it wouldn’t be just a cookie, it would be the start of something great. You can send your own cookie for just $5 from Cheryl’s cookie.

My Sister deserves a cookie! She is my baby Sister but I admire and look up to her so much. She’s the most patient and kind person I know. She’s always thinking of others and doing random acts of kindness. She has two beautiful kiddos and is so selfless; she rarely does anything for herself! She deserves a dozen cookies! :)

I would like to nominate my cousin, Linda. Linda is the most cheerful and loving person I know! She lives alone, which is quite an accomplishment due to her intellectual disabilities. Small things like this bring such joy to her heart! She would be so excited to get this in the mail! Nowadays, you don’t get many personal things in the mail anymore! Thanks!

I would like to nominate my wonderful husband. He has been battling cancer for the past 5 1/2 years and is getting worse by the day now. The hidious disease is now taking over his lungs and breathing is even a chore. I go to work each day in fear and he tries to do what he can to stay positive. He is only 43 years old and I feel he is being cheated but he says that he is rich for having had me in his life. Wrong – I am the rich one and want him to know how strong I feel he is and how much more I love him everyday.

I would like to nominate my friend Pamela Summers. She such a great friend and is always there for me. She took me under her wing and showed me a bunch of things to help me win in sweepstakes. She didn’t know me and actually came looking for me because I had won a prize. That was so awesome!

My cousin Pam deserves a cookie. She has her hands full as she is a mom of 5.In which she has a special child which he’s a cutie but I know she gets worn out a lot and her husband is having back surgery asap. She’s a beautiful person that I admire she’s dealt with so much and I couldng imagine being in her shoes.

A little girl Named McKayla deserves a cookie. She is only 13 years old, honor student and she is also fighting for her life. She has a rare liver disease called PSC. She is currently in Pittsburgh’s Children’s Hospital. She is constantly in severe pain and sick. The doctors are lost cause now it’s attacking other organs. Her pancreas is now inflamed and she has gone anemic! If any one deserves a smile I believe it’s McKayla!

I would LOVE to nominate my daughter’s Teacher. She is in charge of 20 students in grades k-2. She really does a lot for the kids. I can email her anywhere from about 6am-10pm and she gets back to me quickly. She goes above what a teacher needs to do. She is always updating the parents on the students. So I know all the time what is happening in school. She spends time with each child individually. She encourages the students to come up with goals for the year, and then works with them to achieve their goals.

I would like to nominate my best friend, Michele Norman Cottrill. We’ve known each other for about 25 years. I’m actually very close to her entire family and her kids are like my own. I can’t think of even one time we weren’t there for each other. I would love to do something so spontaneous that it would just give her a shocked smile. She has one daughter who’s 19 but then she has 3 under the age of 10, so she stays pretty busy. I’d like her to just stop and take a minute for herself. I think a cookie out of the blue would do the trick.

  9. Susan Ruggiero Nagy says

My Best Friend Joanie. I have had to have 10 surgeries. She has always been there for me. She visits me every time I am sick, she takes me out, cares for me, calls me when I am down, we are not sisters by blood but I consider her my sister by love. I don’t know what I would do without her. she always knows how to make me smile and comfort me. She is a wonderful person. She deserves this.

  10. Ellen S says

I would like to nominate my daughter, Hayley. Hayley will be 18 this month and October is a hard month for her. Her special needs brother died on her birthday so every year she tried to celebrate her special day but also has the memory of losing her brother on the same day. Also, since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month she is constantly reminded that I had breast cancer and she could have lost me too. Through all of this she has perservered. She goes back and volunteers in her brother’s old special needs class because she wants to give something back to these very special kids. She carries a full load of A/P and Dual enrollment classes as well as being the yearbook editor, service club officer, and National Honor Society. It will be really nice if she received a cookie so that she could see how special she is. Yes, she hears it from her parents but it would be really special to know that other people think she is just as special.

  11. Adonna says

My pal Chilja! she is an amazing woman :-) She is a single mom, works crazy hours because of a job change ( we’re all hoping it’s awesome as we think it will be) she manages the food bank at her church ( they serve over 800 people a week), does the special event menus and everything that entails for her church as well- including the shopping, prepping, serving- all volunteer :-)
She is remodeling her nearly 100 year old house on her own (in her “spare” time). Takes care of her mom who lives on the other side of town. Is the best friend a girl could ever have- totally supportive, ready to call me out when i’m being an idiot, and has the biggest heart of anyone you’ll ever meet!
A cookie with a smile? Yeah, she totally deserves that!

  12. Mary Fagans says

I’m nominating my mama..I’ve gone through so much in the past 5 years and she’s been right there with me. No matter what I’ve asked of her she has never turned me down, not once!! She has seen me at rock bottom, but yet she was always with me picking me up. She has never asked for anything in return, she gives without thinking of herself. So for these reasons and more she deserves a thank you for being you cookie. <3 Luv ya Mama

I would like to nominate my husband. I recently broke my ankle really bad and he is trying to pick up what I can not do. That means working 12 hrs at work as needed then coming home to pick up the slack. He could really use a pick me up …

  19. says

I would like to nominate my cousin & friend, Lisa. Talk about a rock and endless beam of support. We were never close with our age difference until I had kids and she’s been there for support since my son was born 3 yrs ago. 2 yrs ago she moved 2 hrs away which in most cases hurts a relationship but ours only got stronger. We chat multiple times a day and support each other online with helping each other coupon etc, but still love seeing her in person to touch base. Love how I can bounce any problem off her & shes never judged, only supported. If you look in the dictionary under Family or even Friend, you will see her picture ;) I would love to send her a smile as a thank you for being such an awe-inspiring woman & to know how much I truly appreciate her.

My dad and stepmom deserve a cookie! They are going through a lot of financial trouble right now. Their landlord of 9 years decided to sell the house they have been renting, and they have to move out by the end of this month. I love my dad so much, and my stepmom has always been someone I can turn to when I need to vent or need advice. I think a cookie would at least brighten one day during this stressful time.

She has a teenaged son that has struggled with drug issues and she has always been there for him, working with him and trying to keep him straight. She also cares for my 94 year old mom and 93 year old stepdad who live a few blocks away. She faithfully attends church through all of this and is always there to help others. She went through serious surgery herself last summer. She is a super teacher and always puts her students first. They are so lucky to have her and I’m lucky to have her for my sister

My daughter, Faith, deserves this cookie. She is 21 years old and living her dream, working for a mouse. She is a custodian at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. She helps people all day long. Smiling and making their experience at WDW as magical as possible. Although, being a custodian is not her dream job (tour guide is), she still goes to work and helps others find the Disney Magic. I am so proud of her paying it forward to her guests every single day.

My daughter Lorelei deserves a cookie. When she was 5 she hit by a lawnmower. She is now 21 and a single mommy of a 3 year old little boy. July 9th she had a surgery on her foot to scrape bone. Very routine should have been very easy. She was placed in the hospital with a severe infection in the incision and MRSA. Now we are at almost 3 months since her surgery and she is finally almost healed. She has handled all of this as good as can be expected but has been a little depressed. I think a cookie would just brighten her day. Thank you

My daughter deserves a cookie. She’s a senior in college, in another state and I miss her terribly. She has gone through some medical issues last year that has put her behind in her college status but she’s pushing through this semester and doing absolutely wonderful. I am so proud of her and having her receive a happy face cookie in the mail would make her day (and mine).

Last week, I was very ill and she single-handedly took care of her family and mine (making sure that both of my children were dropped off and picked up from school, had meals, and also spend the entire day/night in the ER with me! I always knew she would be there for me if I needed her, but she went way above and beyond to keep everything on schedule and everyone taken care of during this difficult week. It would be nice to recognize her for being such a good sister.

  44. says

I would like to nominate my namesake, my Mom, Mrs. Nancy Jane Cowens!! We’ve shared a house for many years, & she certainly derserves a cookie for putting up with my shenangans all these years! I may be an adult, but don’t always act like one; I’m sick alot due to illness, which can make me very moody, to say the least. My Mom is the most trustworthy person I know, she always supports me & sticks up for me. She is the BEST!

  45. Lisa Medors says

My husband deserves it. I am sick with various problems and he does everything. He works everyday, half days when I go to dialysis. He comes home and makes dinner, does all the dishes etc. some nights he goes to the laundry mat. He carries tons of clothes to the car and when he’s done brings them in puts them away. He takes me to dialysis, he comes in and makes the coffee for everyone at 5 am. Goes home sleeps until I call and wake him. come gets me fixes me some breakfast and goes to work. He takes care of our dogs, walks them feeds them, cleans up after them. He is an angel and overlook and negativity that happens as he does way too much for me to be mad at him for long. He deserves a cookie and much more but a cookie would be a start. I am very luck to have him.

I would like to nominate a dear friend. Her daughter was being bullied at school and she committed suicide three years ago at the age of 15. My friend is the one that found her (something a parent should never have to see). She has been very hard on herself ever since. She has since lost her job and her husband. She really deserves something to smile about.

I’d like to nominate my friend Desirae Brown. She lost her job recently and aside from her mothers disability check she was the only income earner in the house. She has been having to sell off all her things just to buy food and I think she could use something to cheer her up!
