An Open Letter To The People Who Want My Husband Dead

My husband has been in law enforcement for over four years! Every year gets harder, and the hatred just keeps getting worse! It’s sad that I kiss my husband goodbye for work like it could be our last! I pray with my kids for my husband’s safety and others around him! We honestly do believe All lives matter! I’m not saying one life matters more than another! No one should feel like they have to look over their shoulder every, or any, day of their life. My husband does! Many do. My kids also shouldn’t have the fear that their dad could not come home due to hatred! I shouldn’t have to lose sleep keeping my ear out making sure while he is on duty that my house is safe from people who want to “get back” at my husband for just doing his job. The same job which saves lives every single DAY! They protect us, and I mean All of Us!

I understand fully though that not all cops out there are good! But I also know that there are also people out there that portray cops to be worse than they are as well! My husband has come home twice in his career thus far with tears in his eyes and explained to me how he has had a gun pointed at him.  Here’s the shocking part…He felt threatened but decided to not break their families by taking their lives.  He was able to talk his way out of a serious situation, while barrel to barrel with someone who had the intention to take my husband from me.

Instead of planning and attending Twitter Chats and Events or Walks to cause arguments and shootings, why don’t we use that time just to love and respect others, Everyone? I am all for freedom of speech…thus my feelings on display here! But these are just words written down.

“We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence. Again and again we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force.”

Cops are trained to Serve and Protect! At the end of the day, I want my husband to come home to us! So I will just keep praying that everyone will just love each other, find unity as a country and move forward.  Let’s live a life of love every day!
