New Music From 1 Girl Nation

Meet 1 Girl Nation

I am always up for discovering new music and my children usually discover what is new and hot before I do. The problem is that frequently these songs are full of suggestive lyrics that we don’t feel are appropriate. I am also very leery about promoting music by singers and performers whose actions are less than credible.  That is why I was excited when I was asked to review and giveaway the NEW 1 Girl Nation CD.

1 Girl Nation is a new music group made of 5 girls with a passion for telling others about Christ thru their music. Their music appeals to the preteen, teen, and young adult audience with an upbeat pop beat. The CD arrived the day my daughter was to spend the night with my parents and she took it along with her. My mom called to ask where I got the new CD because she liked it as well. My daughter plays the CD frequently and hers favorite song is #9 – Daddy’s Girl. She keeps skipping thru the CD to play that song over and over again.

I am very impressed with this CD and find myself enjoying the uplifting message along with the contemporary pop beat. I am pleased to find a group that I don’t have to worry about my daughter listening to and look forward to future music releases.

We live in NC but every now and then we would drive to IL to visit my grandmother. I loved it because the seasons were so different in timing. If we were going for Thanksgiving, it was often still warm here but it would get colder as we drove west and the fall colors were more vibrant as we drove through the mountains. I loved the drive and the chance to see the other side of my family. 🙂

My most favorite holiday memory was my last year with my grandma in 87′ we spent all day watching the Golden Girls and playing checkers while singing christmas carols during the commercials.

One of my favorite Christmas memories was when I was a kid & got to go to my Grandma’s house & bake cookies with her.

On Dec. 3rd, 12 years ago, we adopted our 1st child. One day I was wrapping presents on the ironing board (don’t ask!) and she was sleeping on a blanket on the floor. The large roll of paper fell and landed right on top of her. It looked like a blanket covering her. After I stopped crying I took a picture, which is still one of my favorites. She was the best Christmas gift God could have given us!
