Can you believe Christmas is over and the year is coming to an end? Just amazing! One thing you will notice regarding coupons is that many expire 12/31. If there are any great coupons that you have not used yet, make sure to do so this week.
The end of the year also brings great clearance items! I was able to shop both Saturday and Sunday. Although I did not buy many items for myself, I was able to get a great head start on Christmas next year (more to come on this) and I was able to pick up several holiday food items on clearance for free!
Kroger had the Pillsbury Refrigerated Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough big rolls on manager’s special for $1. I bought (4) and use $1/2 coupon and $1.50/2 coupon. There is also a $1 cellfirecoupon. The Holiday Pillsbury frosting was .33¢ and I used a .40¢ coupon (it gave overage) and the cake mix was .23¢. So, I paid .65¢ for (4) large cookie dough rolls, cake mix and frosting! The cookie dough freezes very well and it looks like we will be eating Holiday cupcakes…or I will just call them winter cupcakes with the tree confetti!
My point is that there are many deals to be had on holiday clearance. Don’t forget to check food items, ziploc bags, paper towels, scented candles and anything that has a holiday print on it. I scored some inexpensive wine at Cost Plus World Market. The wine with the reindeer on it was 50% off plus if you bought 6 in one transaction they take another 10% off. I also had a coupon that took 10% off alcohol purchases. I ended up paying $2.42 a bottle!
Have you found any great clearance items lately? We would love to hear about them!
