Memories: Building a memory one bead at a time

This series on how to make the most out of the time you have with your children is brought to you by Amee at Madame Deals and Sharon at Mom on Dealz.

I am a firm believer that jewelry is memorable. I have my grandmother’s wedding band. That is why I started a Chamilia bracelet for my daughter. I am going to give it to her on her 16th birthday. She is only three but she knows each story associated with each bead. I got the purse bead when I knew I was going to have a girl because daddy said she was “going to break the bank.” She has done just that. Then we have a princess and the pea bead which she was the pea on our first Halloween.

Then we have the beach charm from her first visit to Florida to see Grammy. I have the I love you sign in sign language because she used to say, “I ov ooooo!” Then we have an owl because she would look for owls with her grandparents in Rhode Island. We got her a shoe for her first birthday because she was walking and a cupcake for her second birthday.

Then her third birthday we started Ballet and she went with me to pick out her charm.

I wear my bracelet all the time because one day it will be hers. It reminds me that time flies and jewelry can be a scrapbook of the soul.
