Kroger Mega Event: Saved 81%

Are you scoring some great deals at Kroger this week? I was able to get there once this week and I bought (50) participating items. It was a last minute decision to head to Kroger and I was a bit unorganized! I also had my two boys with me, which is always interesting (especially when you are unorganized!). However, my totals were awesome! Now, this is not a traditional shopping trip for me. I did not buy meat or many items to make a complete meal. This was stockup trip for me!

Spent: $45.50
Saved: $89.29
Mail in Rebate: $20 for the Kraft/Nabisco Back to School Rebate

After rebate, I spent $25.50 on $134.79 worth of groceries!

My biggest splurge was the watermelon for $4.65. Look for a post coming soon with a Watermelon Valentines Day idea!

Another great deal this week is not part of the Mega Event. Old El Paso products are generating a catalina. I bought (3) Old El Paso Heat & Eat Sides for $1.25 each. Use (3) $0.50/1 coupons and pay $0.25 each. Get back a catalina for $1 off your next order. If you buy (6), you will get a catalina for $3 off your next order.

I did a stock up run too. I didn’t do as great, but was very pleased when my receipt said that I had a 50% savings. One of the good buys I noticed and that I got – was the Kraft Easy Mac – when you bought 10 you got them for 50cents each. Then there was a coupon right by them, if you bought 5, you’d save $1.00 I also used the time to stock up on cheese as well. The one thing I missed – and b/c I was running out of time and didn’t pay as much attention as I should -was that I missed the third grouping of 10 by 3 items! So, by missing those three, I missed an additional $5! Oh well, I walked away pleased with what I had.

      Heather,
Yes, I found a ton of coupons in the store! I went down to Short Pump since I had to run another errand down there. The Kroger down there was well stocked and there were coupon tearpads every where!

So frustrating when you miss count! I have done it before too. If I am off by one, I usually go to the customer service desk and ask if I can buy one more item. They are usually pretty good about that.

I went on Wednesday because I had seen the sales flyer on Tuesday and I could not pass up this sale!! It took me all day Wednesday figuring out what I was going to buy and which coupons to use. (I am a newbie at couponing and not a organized person at all!)
I think I faired pretty well!
I used $25 in coupons and saved $95 with my storecard which included $40 off for buying 8 sets of mix match!!!and later I realized I had loaded a Hunt’s coupon on!!! So what should have cost me $247 only cost me $127 and I say only because I usually spend between $130 and $150 a week for our family of 6 which I think is pretty rediculous!!!
Thank you so much for sharing your awesome buys and allowing us to share ours with you!
The only thing that makes me mad is that I let my 3 year old hold my receipt and she let it blow away while we got in the car!! *sigh* so I can’t keep looking at what I saved :(
