Kroger eCoupons Considered Store Coupons

I told you about the new Kroger eCoupons last week. There were some questions as to whether these eCoupons could be stacked with a paper coupon. I contacted Kroger Corporate yesterday and they responded with wonderful news! It turns out that the Kroger eCoupons found on the Kroger website are considered store coupons. That means that the eCoupons can be stacked with a paper manufacturers coupon! This information comes directly from an e-mail I received from Kroger corporate:

Thank you for contacting The Kroger Co.  The coupons that you download onto your card from the Website are considered store  coupons.  You may use one store coupon and one manufacturer’s coupon per item.

Please note that eCoupons will not double. Also, Cellfire and Shortcuts eCoupons are considered manufacturers coupons and should not be stacked with a paper coupon.

Something I realized about the coupons loaded on your card…make sure you do not allow the cashier to start scanning your groceries until they have scanned your card. If the item goes through before your card is scanned it will not give the coupon. I learned this the hard way :)

      Christine,
Great tip! I try to always scan my card first. But now I will make certain that I don’t forget that. Thanks!

This is interesting, because I emailed Fred Meyer, part of the Kroger family I hear, and they wrote me that their ecoupons are not to be used with paper coupons. On their website they are considered manufacturers coupons. Is there a definite line between Kroger and Fred Meyer? I’d be interested in your comments. Thanks!
